John Prine dies from covid 19
One of my favorite singers/songwriters passed today from coronavirus.

He has many great songs, one I've played for years:

One I found this morning that touched a nerve:

He'll be missed.

He definitely left the world a better place than he found it.

It is very difficult to find a favorite song or favorite lyric from this national treasure. It is astonishing a post about an athlete or pop singer's passing can go into thousands of pages, but when we lose Mark Twain 2.0 people just shrug. The guy wrote songs so powerful he was sued by the mining industry. John Prine's music has lifted many people out of complicated bouts of depression, Bill Murray and myself included. Mr. Prine will be missed greatly. I'm glad I got to see him dance off the stage in October (a few days after southern showed us who drinkwitz really was). Let's just hope he started a rock and roll band, had a vodka ginger ale, and smoked a 9 mile long cigarette when he got past the bouncer. RIP!

I had never heard of John until his death but his music sounds great. Wish I were a fan from long ago. Hearing him in this video, I immediately thought of Woody Guthrie from the depression years of long ago. For those that have followed John, do you see him and Woody as two of a kind?
