In 28 days over 2300 Michiganders have died from a type of virus that normally causes the common cold. If this were shootings, car accidents, overdoses, drownings, or any other cause people would rightly call for action.

My only comment is that we have tested so few people (and the number of tests is not of individual people, but tests. Those who test + are later retested so the number of unique people tested is a fraction of the number of tests administered).

We need large scale 'random sampling' type studies so we test the population as a whole and not just those who are tested for a specific reason, e.g., suspected positive for C'virus.

Apparently they are doing this in a San Fran area county and the numbers testing positive for the antibody is far greater than they had expected based on the number of detected + cases of the virus.

In a couple weeks we will hit 1M + cases of this coronavirus. The actual number is probably many types this number.

The amazing thing is how little we really know from a PUBLIC HEALTH stand point. There could be a lot of 'herd immunity' developing. OTOH, the number of people infected could be many, many times higher than reported.

I agree LJM - I'm furious that I can't make people risk their lives so I can dine in at Applebee's

If Americans are furious it should be that the testing, PPE supplies, etc. has gone so badly.

If I feel ill, I walk into my doctor's office and get permission to get the coronavirus test. If I test positive, I have to quarantine and buy face masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, etc.

If I feel well, I could walk into a CVS and take at least an antibody test, and if I test negative, sell me face masks and let me get on with my life.

This isn't perfect but it is better than everyone having to assume that anyone they meet on the street could be Covid-19 positive.

This is some derpy thinking. The point is to keep people at home and since asking nicely did not work the state moved on limiting economic behavior. But limiting all economic behavior or certain crucial behaviors is potentially deadly. If we still lived in an economy without big box stores then Whitaker would have kept hardware stores open and closed Benjamin Moore. Our stores are bigger and more complex and so the order will split up stores.
TL; DR I don’t see anyone marching over voluntary dental procedures.

Bob, I do believe most of the EMU posters would label you as the most controversial member on this forum. To call ETough a mfer is classless. Personally I enjoyed EToughs insight on football! Yes Maxx was a superstar who has represented EMU great in the past and I’m sure will acknowledge his roots in the future.
