I want to be very wrong though.
It seems any guess on this subject is pointless. Everyday you hear conflicting things. Over the past few days I've heard the NBA has a plan to be back in 30 or 45 days or something, MLB has a plan to begin by late March, Dr. Fauci has said he thinks sports could be back this summer if done with no crowds.
Then within the same hour you'll hear another two doctors or scientist say no sports for a year.
....who knows.
I understand your points.
However, for college sports, I wonder if he can have college sports without students on campus?
I still maintain from a
HEALTH perspective, we could test athletes, coaches and staff, etc. and play before empty (or near empty) stadia or arena.
As I suggested somewhere, we can test all players, coaches, etc. on THURSDAY and play SATURDAY before an empty stadium.
Or we could play before say 5K at EMU with social distancing throughout Rynearson.
This is WORKABLE.
Big thing is that players and staff need to be tested frequently (weekly?) lest someone get infected and we have big time community spread.
The big question is what about B1G, SEC, etc. where ONE game may gross 10 - 15M dollars and what happens if they permit say 20K fans instead of 100K+
P.S. 5K at Rynearson with 'social distancing' might actually look good. Rynearson, with the tarp, seats 22K, so there would be fans nicely spread out across both side of the stadium.
