Jeriah Horne?
Grad transfer from Tulsa, his dad was Penny's teammate. Wonder if we can get him here?

I could dig it. Good player and we need some upperclassmen to even out the roster a bit.

If nothing else, bring him in for his free throw percentage (86!).

RE: Jeriah Horne?
He had the game of his life against us this past season. Not a bad player but are we going to move Junior to walk on for Horne? Not sure if he would start here, kind of doubt it, but he would get good minutes. We just don't have the schollies to offer.

When JG commits we will probably see a transfer or 2.

Who knows, look like they would have already made that decision. Not like JG is going to be a surprise. He has been our #1 target all year long.
I personally don't want to see anyone transfer out and would like to see what each of them could do here with one more season under their belts. Nobody wants to sit out a year and most folks seem pretty happy.
Next season is the year I think we see some players grad transfer out ( possibly Thomas, Harris and Stokes) They would be very hot commodities. I think Alo and Malco are here for the duration. Hopefully all of them are but sometimes a fresh start helps.
I still think Tyler Harris is going to be a big time stud but he will need at least one season of being the man at PG if he hopes to have any NBA consideration. He is just too short to be a NBA 2 guard. He doesn't project to be our #1 option at PG anytime soon so I'll totally get it if he goes grad transfer next season. He reminds me somewhat of Chiozza but he needs some reps as a true PG.

Lester going to get his minutes
Boogie going to get about the same minutes he got this year.
Baugh, Lomax and Harris all are going to have to fight for minutes but why would they transfer when they know Green is gone next year.
If we don't land another big DJ will be playing the 4 and we will be starting 3 guards...Lester, Boogie and Green.

If DJ is designated the 4, he won't be playing a traditional 4 offensively. He'll be on the wing. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll have much success with another year of 4 on the perimeter.

Why not? Whats wrong with 4 perimeter players as long as they have decent sizs?

Idk, outside of Cisse the pickings are pretty slim if we whiff on Greg Brown.
From what I can see I think there is one JC big out there we could use and there are several people after him. We may get him idk. There is one grad transfer big man we could use and he isn't looking at us that I know of.
There are a couple of other possibilities but they aren't Bigs.
I think we will be ok without Greg Brown.
We have some depth inside, especially if Cisse reclassifies.
I think Stokes and Dandridge are going to be very physical and effective bigs before their Tiger careers are over.

RE: Jeriah Horne?
I think Stokes is the X factor as of today. Just the unknowns. Speculation from practice was he was the most physical big we have. Dandridge showed flashes as well. Rand looks promising on defensive end. Add Cisse or Brown and the front court should be set.

The point is, IF Green comes, then Brown and/or Cisse come as well. Bank it.

Chiozza may have been Pastner's worst miss in his time here.
Even before he transferred from Millington to White Station he badly wanted to be a Tiger.
His Uncle or a close family friend was pushing him over on the Recruiting board.
The differences between him & Tyler is mostly body, toughness, & handles.
Besides Pastner overlooking him & waiting to start recruiting him Florida had another advantage.
His paternal grandparents, Francis and Mary Chiozza, were living in Orlando, Florida.
They were at every home game to watch their grandson play for the Gators.

Transferred from Bartlett to White Station .... at the time, supposed to be a package deal with Leron (??) Black who ended up at Illinios

Those were two bad misses for Pastner.
I remember the knock on Chiozza was he was too short, much like it is on Tyler Harris. Lots of people on this board didn't think Chiozza was Tiger good. Hes doing ok in the NBA.
I'm not saying Tyler Harris will get to the NBA but anybody who can shoot like he can has a chance. Not many Memphis high school players average 30ppg. He just needs some maturity, to pick up his defensive intensity and to keep working hard.
His practices vs Lomax, Boogie, Baugh, Quinones and Green should he come will prove invaluable to him in the long run. I'm pulling for Tyler.

Great if we have 4-5 guys who can score consistently from the perimeter, also have the ability to score inside or drive/slash, or have a mid-range game. But just having 4-5 guys camped out on the perimeter has never worked for anyone consistently. Works much better when there is a consistent inside threat to suck the D in or you have players in an offense with motion moving & moving the ball in & out.
