Being the goof I am I looked up their statement of faith. Coming in at number 9.

"We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female."

That would be inclusive of their tolerance for diversity though. I knew that some day I'd be able to draw on my AT&T compliance training and use all three of those principles in a rational sentence.

There's something else in this statement that has been glossed over by the LBGT stuff and that is an attack on Charity versus Government. This guy clearly finds Charity offensive and thinks an all powerful government should do everything for everyone, including the traditional role charity organizations have played in our society. This is Socialism 101. One of the first things Lenin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh did when they came to power was shut down charities and churches.

Ironic that a State Senator, you know... someone in charge of policy, funding and spending within a state... admits that he is impotent/unwilling to act and that others must act for him.

If not, that was a pointless post.

No but they are refusing to allow non-heterosexuals to volunteer with their organization. While I completely support their right to their beliefs on human sexuality (and agree), I think it’s a bit absurd to require volunteers to affirm that they share those beliefs.

If nurses, doctors, and others with medical training want to volunteer but don’t hold those same beliefs, is it really smart to turn them away and perhaps be unable to help as many sick folks? Probably not. Simple solution though is for those who don’t share their beliefs to just volunteer elsewhere.
