Apparently he is a kid who runs faster than people on the other team.
Well, he's certainly faster than the guys from Norwood and Madiera.
It would be nice if he came here if only to keep that local momentum going. However, if he shuns us for a P5 its not a big deal.
RB's are basically just functional parts in today's game. The days of the Barry Sanders' are over.
RB's are needed to get the offense 3-4 yards at a time to get into a favorable passing situation. Then you use your RPO QB to pick apart the defense or throw it to the WR or TE... which are now the main priorities. That's why Warren was such a gem.
It would be great to steal one from the P5 and brag about it, but it not we're still good.
I disagree that it is no big deal if we miss out on him. Last year's signings of Prater and Thomas were huge signings in that UC can retain some of the elite local talent. If UC starts to retain the elite local talent-- then UC is going to be a preseason top 25 team every year. These are the recruits that UC needs year in and out to make it to the next level.
UC already has lost out to OSU for Johnson and Smith (LaSalle,) and Kiner is the top prospect in Cincy and rated in the top 200 Nationally. He is the guy CLF needs to anchor this class. Since tOSU already signed 2 RB's this year, this is UC's glorious opportunity to snag another big time local recruit. UC doesn't get many 4 star recruits, so this is important.
UL is in contention, but the AAC is stronger than the ACC. And Louisville is in the same division as Clemson. Louisville won't sniff the ACC Championship game for years. Michigan is Michigan, where they will get bslapped by tOSU for the next 5 years plus. Plus probably slapped around by Penn State on a regular basis.
Playing time and winning are factors in consideration. UC offers the best chance to win, and PT than at a school like Michigan. UC is also better positioned than either of those schools for a NY6 bowl game. (If that is something he values, IDK. Different strokes for different folks.)
UC needs to continue the momentum of last year's recruiting class-- and Kiner goes a long way towards achieving that goal. Losing him to Louisville would be the biggest kick in the nuts.
