For old fogeys like me who mostly get their music from old fashioned FM on their car radio (instead of their downloaded songs on their phone), songs stick in your head longer since you aren't driving much.
For me for the last week and a half, its been the Partridge Family. David Cassiday singing, "I think I love you." After a week and half, I think I like the song. Unless you are my age or a little older, you probably have no idea who the Partridge Family are or have heard the song. I don't even remember where or how the song got in my head.
For me Bullet that song is only appropriate when I'm thinking of Susan Dey.
I was quite fond of her then!
Among my friends if you had a crush on Laurie Partridge you had to take a number. She was still a cutie on L.A. Law. Of course it was easy to have a crush on Shirley Jones as well. Especially if you remembered her from her role as Lulu Baines in Elmer Gantry. But in that movie it was Jean Simmons that takes the prize.
But to be quite honest my first crush ever was on Annette Funicello and my second was on Nancy Kwan. After that it got predictable Donna Douglas, Dawn Wells, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Barbara Eden. By the time Susan Dey hit the screen it was almost like robbing the cradle, almost.
Not that Susan Dey ever did this but this whole discussion reminds me of the J.Geils band, "Centerfold".
I liked Dawn Wells AND Tina Louise. Elizabeth Montgomery and Barbara Eden were a little old for me at the time although I watched the shows. Now Grace Lee Whitney (even though she was actually older than the other two, she played a young character), definitely. And Susan Dey, and among the younger ones-Maureen McCormick (I was a kid then-not robbing the cradle).
Jeannie (I Dream of...), Yeoman Rand (Star Trek), Marcia (Brady Bunch), Ginger (Gilligan's Island), Barbara (One Day at a Time), and of course Jill (Charlie's Angels).
