I live in Little Rock, but parents still live in Jonesboro. Tornado was on the ground for a long time and went through a lot of business areas in town. The mall got hit. Lots of buildings completely destroyed and cars thrown all over the place. Doesn’t look good. Cheddar’s restaurant completely gone. With things shutdown from Coronavirus some lives were probably saved from not as many people being out.

I have video of it heading directly toward me before I ran really fast. I'm not sure how to say it this way, but we were lucky, the Tornado hit the busiest part of town at 5pm on a Saturday, but because of the virus, a lot of places were minimally staffed. The Mall was mostly closed. Campus was shut down

Had it touchdown a half mile farther back, it would have destroyed one of the largest residential areas of the city, including where I live. A lot of people would have been dead.

We're on lockdown. No one allowed in or out. Residents are not supposed to leave homes at all.

After seeing what Nashville just went through , I don’t wish this on anyone

It is a surreal and terrible feeling to be able to identify every single building- or what’s left of it- in a tornado aftermath video. As many businesses as were destroyed it could have been much, much worse. Incredibly as of this moment, there have been zero fatalities reported although there are search and rescue operations underway. If you could throw up prayers, positive vibes, or whatever it is you do, the community would appreciate it.

Seeing some videos of the tornado and some pics of the damage. Definitely a lot of structural damage. Looks to be mostly commercial? Hopefully with it being Saturday and with more people staying home right now there won't be any deaths. We had a similar situation in Dallas in October, large tornado, tons of structural damage to mostly commercial areas, and miraculously not a single death. Hoping we hear the same from Jonesboro.

I sure hope that everyone is okay at ASU - a pretty bad tornado hit Ruston last year.

I live in Huntsville, AL and this crap will be headed over here later tonight I think

No deaths. Had it not been for the virus, it would have been real bad. That's the busiest area of town

but its surreal. I can pinpoint every building. Several of which I've been in a lot, and they are all gone.

Glad to hear the human toll was minimized...it's actually nice to be able to attribute something positive to the coronavirus isolation. Y'all take care.

There’s a Facebook page titled “The Tornado in Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA” that has a ton of photos and videos. It truly is a miracle that so far, no reports of serious injuries.

Most insane thing. This likely is going to be graded F4 no less than F3.

Right now it looks like SIX INJURED. NO DEATHS. There are vehicles that look like they went through a crusher. Multiple restaurants destroyed. Best Buy and Barnes & Noble destroyed, Dillard’s damaged, Sams Club damaged, many smaller businesses destroyed and it all happened at a time when Red Wolf Boulevard and Caraway would be loaded with traffic and all those businesses full or close to it.

Very easily could have been on a scale similar to the Joplin tornado but so far looks like no one died.

RE: Praying for You Arkansas State fans
Final Count: 18 injuries. Two serious enough to be hospitalized. No deaths.

As Arkstfan said, had this been any other time, we'd have been Joplin. Our virus count is low right now, but most stores were on pick up orders only so the only people inside the mall when it hit were employees.

I think the biggest question we're going to be grappling with is how does one clean up a city from a massive tornado in a pandemic? Social Distancing flew out the window with that storm. Emergency Shelters the city had never really had to use had to quickly open their doors, and large parts of the city were having to stay with friends and relatives because power is out. That's a problem that we'll deal with another time.

As of today it was 22 injured and I'm still in total shock that there were no deaths.

Got little brother buttoned up until the adjusters show their faces. The wife shot this video as we were leaving. The first house you see is his and then the rest of his block off of Prospect Road.
