I certainly hope all the faculty haters note the numbers. EMU was projecting a revenue budget of $17.8M with a $12M University subsidization. CMU? 31 million with 21M coming from the school. Enough said.

Don’t worry; we’ll make half of that money back by keeping Murphy around.

I read the article and see if as not a terribly big thing.

First, like a lot of things, one has to be an accountant to add all the debits and credits to determine the net positive or negative.

My view (from 30,000 feet) is that yes, the MAC schools will lose some money from the NCAA (thru the MAC) because of cancelation of the NCAA bball tourneys.

There will be, OTOH, big savings on spring sports travel.

So there are significant losses in revenue and expenses.

The BIG thing is what happens in Fall. We all assume that things will be back to normal BUT we don't know if the virus will reappear as the weather turns cooler (the belief being that hot/humid weather inhibits the virus).

If any OOC FB games get cancelled we are going to be hurting

This is what scares me...

https://twitter.com/TonyPaul1984/status/...41570?s=20

As I posted (somewhere), folks going to a UofM FB game get say 18 - 20" of bench and that is a great way to spread the virus.

Or even UofM / OSU played in 40 degree weather in November, the beginning of the regular flu season. I think a lot of folks are deadly afraid that the coronavirus could return when temperatures drop (ideal for flu viruses).
