2020-2021 Basketball Schedule

It's currently in development. % of attendance is unknown, but I know it won't be 0. Not sure on season tickets, because not sure how many home games there will be...maybe a conference season ticket. News should be coming in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks!!!!!

They are not considering extreme lengths traveling east or west.

Do we know how long the conference season will be? I could see a 12-game schedule where you go to divisions for the year, and play two-game sets against each of the six division opponents (three home, three away).
I presume there'll be at least one bye week to account for postponements

Wood said they’d be playing 7 OOC games and 18 conference games on a recent appearance on Cattles.

Hmmm. With the twofer setup and 18 games, that means that half of the teams will play 2 more road games than the other half of the league unless maybe you still play your travel partner home and away.

My understanding is that for the Conference games, we will play 2 games against each of the 6 East Division opponents (not home and away) and 2 games against 3 Western teams, including UAB and 2 others (but not UTEP or UTSA).

Gotcha. They could always do three games against each division opponent! But that would be silly. If you wanted to get really goofy, and if on-campus learning is still limited in the spring semester: spend one week playing everyone in your division at a southern site, then one week at a central site, then one at a northern. So like one week at FAU, one at Marshall, one at ODU.
Or we could just play Charlotte 18 times. In tennis.

Still playing travel partners home/away

Having a little trouble figuring out what this means. Hypothetically does this mean we would travel to FAU and play them twice (Thurs/Sat) and perhaps Marshall comes to ODU and plays twice? Thats a serious advantage if for example you play a low level team on the road twice, but you get a top team at your home for two games. A disadvantage in reverse.

Yeah it certainly will provide challenges to some and advantages to others. I would imagine it’s going to be a western team that we play twice in a row since we have to play all division opponents home and away.

Yes, that is correct. You will travel to an opponent and play them twice, while when you're home you will play that visiting team twice.

Was told today that b-ball capacity will be 1k fans. Don’t know how tickets are going to work but it’s good to know some will be able to attend.

What do we know at this point about the basketball season at the Ted? I hate the thought of not attending any games at the Ted. Basketball is by far the best season of the year.
