Pelosi is so filled with TDS that even a national emergency can't get in the way of her Orange Man Bad tantrums. She unwittingly is torpedoing the democrat party and setting up a GOP house but I'm okay with that.

A $2T stimulus package.

Details starting to come out. These are included, but maybe not everything.

* Direct checks to Americans
* Expanded unemployment assistance
* Emergency loans to small businesses
* Stabilize key national industries
* Strict oversight for large corporations

Oversight of the corporations is there because the crooks onWall Street Banks when they got the bail outs? Most of the money did not went to the banks, but in the pockets of CEOs, the board and paid vacation out of the tax payers' money. The rules are now stack against the corporations that they can't do that anymore.

Nice going McConnell. Hopefully any Kentucky people here realize now is your chance once and for all to get rid of this buffoon.

You might be finally understanding the country is being run by an actual CEO that knows how government free money is used. Now they need to figure out that $1200 per person across the board makes no sense. Real easy. Just pay people what the state Unemployment amount would be for each taxpayer in their respective state. What is so hard about that?

Bipartisan negotiations sending emergency aid to poor workers who cant pay their rent and soon wont be able to afford food derailed by "Let Em Eat Cake" Nancy. Nothing to explain. Everyone is sitting at home watching it unfold on TV. Nancy cant hide this one. Everyone---and I mean EVERYONE--knows who is responsible for the delay. Should have been done Sunday night. Nancy? Well, she and her staff are getting paid. She is telling anyone who will listen the House Democrats are in no hurry. Even Gov Cuomo is critical of all the add on's holdng up the bill that have nothing to do with the emergency funding.

Yeah---people will remeber this. The commercials write themselves. Biden/Pelosi 2020---#Let Em Eat Cake"

And if the republicans do rout the dems in November, this time don't screw it up. Do the damn things you are supposed to do, instead of turning into milquetoast wimps again.

I dislike Chuck and Nancy intensely, but each has more leadership in his/her little finger than Boehner, Ryan, and McConnell combined. And McCarthy is so innocuous that I have to look up his name every time I mention him. Quit being nice guys. You're dealing with doctrinaire fighters on a mission to implement a disastrous agenda, and sometimes you have to fight back.

'Phants have promised too much and delivered too little because they keep getting out maneuvered by the donks in congress. It's time for that to stop.

couldn't agree more...

I have a pretty good 'fever' they've learned that lesson from the magnificent orange one at this point....McConnell, Graham, Cruz, etc. have not disappointed of late....I've been as critical as you and many others have pointed out their failure(s) in the past...

Good. Those GOP ghouls wanted to last minute pull the extra unemployment benefits because *gasp* a few people who got fired/laid off might make more for 4 months than they were while working. Their reasons saying it "encourages people not to work" make zero sense because YOU CAN'T GET UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE IF YOU QUIT YOUR JOB. So good job Bernie and go straight to hell Graham, Scott, Scott, and Sasse. Even freaking Mnuchin doesn't side with your dumb ass argument.

“I don’t think it’ll create incentives” not to work. He said state systems were not equipped to assure Americans would only get benefits equal to their previous pay, adding “this was the only way we could assure that states could get money out quickly in a fair way.”

So. You are saying people that made $10 an hour at the local store will give up $3400/week tax free (family of 4) to go back to work when they reopen?

Damn when did they slip it in that these benefits were forever? I could have swore it was for only 4 months. Oh well yeah you are right they'd be stupid to ever work again if they can sit at home forever collecting that check. 01-wingedeagle

Do people have this little understanding of anything? You don't get unemployment insurance if you quit your job, so no one is just quitting to get this they won't get it. Once 4 months passes you damn well better believe that's going away and do you think these people can live off that forever? Also Mnuchin made it clear the states don't have a way to ensure everyone gets just what they were making and nothing more in a quick way.

So 4 months? There will be no where to go back to work in 4 months and there will be no where to spend the money during the 4 months. And please don't tell me it will go into savings accounts because we all know better than that. Businesses can't sit dormant for 4 months and then open up like nothing happened as they will lose their employees due to getting paid more to be unemployed. Summer industries are dead for years as this will go on through the end of July.

If those businesses never let go of their employees then they have nothing to worry about. Again you can't get unemployment if you quit your damn job. The only people who are eligible for this are those that were laid off. Maybe there's gonna be some very dumb people who quit their jobs thinking they are getting free cash, and they are going to be very sadly mistaken when they realize they don't get it.

Also who cares Bernie won this thing passed, so for all the talk of "Bernie accomplishes nothing" his threat to hold this entire thing up got those 4 clowns to shut up and pass it.

He said state systems were not equipped to assure Americans would only get benefits equal to their previous pay, adding “this was the only way we could assure that states could get money out quickly in a fair way.”

how exactly are businesses supposed to not let employees go, and also pay them for months while they have no revenue coming in? That just isn't realistic.
