Truthfully, I would be way too nervous if he came back. It's time for him to move to the next level. Period. And that's awesome! Exclamation point!

I think if he goes in the lottery it is more of a plus for our long term future than if he comes back...

Is everyone talking about Precious going? It seems like some people are referring to Precious going pro and others possibly Boogie?

I am referring to Precious...

Boogie is not physically ready...If he could actually maintain his line through contact he would be close.

Fair enough. I tend to forget about the G-League. I just think improving that in college can help him get a higher financial start in the NBA and stick longer than if he left now.

I think some are talking about Precious going and for others is/should Boogie go.

He will get better training, Nutrition, experience and guidance in the league...Even if he ends up in the G-League (Doubtful) for a portion of the season.

With all the rules regulating how much interactivity coaches can have with players there is no way he would be in a better situation coming back if he gets guaranteed lottery money.

Others who likely aren't getting any guaranteed contracts...2nd round or worse are better served coming back because they can hopefully improve to be a first round draft pick and get guaranteed money.

If you are not getting on the court in real game play situations, the development stagnates which goes to your point about experience. Right now IMO he would get more of that coming back one more season. And doing that could help him improve his draft status.

I do agree about training (to an extent) and nutrition, but not so much with guidance considering who is on the coaching staff.

You can say something similar about every 1 and done that has ever been a 1 and done with very few exceptions.

True. The difference is they tend to have higher ceilings which is how they are able to be 1-and-done. That doesn't negate what I think Boogie himself needs to work on. For comparison if Precious is 1-and-done (which I expect) or not I would still say the main thing for him to focus on would be perimeter dribbling when trying to take someone one on one. He's not a PG so his court vision is not as important. I understand my view for Boogie can be considered generic, but that does not mean I would apply it to everyone or still make it any less true for Boogie's development.

From a 3rd party observer...

I think you are talking about Precious and Alanda is talking about Boogie.

Oh ok, I thought you were talking about Precious. I cant even begin to think Boogie trying to jump to the pros. He has a lot to prove before that.

NP. I made my post based on the thread title while not realizing Precious was being talked about as well. I'm looking at Lester, Boogie, and DJ as possible 2-and-dones if their games come together. IMO one more year in college will do all of them some good for their pro desires. Not saying any of them will be a #1 pick, but Blake Griffin came back and improved his stock though also taking advantage of a weaker draft.

I think that team adding no one is better than this years team at the end of the year.

Adding 5* sophmore DJ and 4* Junior Stokes and the other 4 4* freshmen would be a year older

The guard rotation of boogie, alo, Harris and baugh is strong, and Boogie has the chance to be special.

The wings of Lester, DJ, and Lance are also strong, with DJ having a chance to be special.

Bigs of Stokes and Malcom should be enough as well.

The team as constructed is enough to be in the top 3 of the conference and make the tourney, and if DJ or Boogie hit their potential we could be REALLY good. I'd like to add another wing type player, and ideally a young big. Hopefully one that's a 5 star player and can contribute immediately, but if not at least one that can develop.

Looking forward to next year

We need a guard, a wing and a big. 5 star or grad transfer.

Well we definitely need a guard, whether it is Boogie finding his game or we bring in a recruit.

Very likely we lose a player, and take a transfer. If they pass the free transfer rule, we might take a soph-jr. If not, a grad transfer. And we will sign at least 1 high level HSer.
