Just take a pause and think about who you're trying to have an intelligent discussion with.
I know who I'm having a discussion with, someone I may not agree with politically but so what? Each side thinking people on the other side are either evil or stupid or both is a big part of the reason things have devolved to the point they have. Having a different world view doesn't mean there isn't a common ground that can be found. Maybe this is just me but I'd rather look for places I agree with someone than just bicker forever over the things I know we never will. The actual people running the country, corporate overlords and big money special interests, want us fighting about these relatively petty things instead of identifying them and their grifting and crony capitalism as the real enemy of the american people.
ShaZaaam!!!
(You’re likely to young to remember that crap show)
But, I’m not entirely sure you’re as far left as you think you are. Or, perhaps those of us who have largely forsaken the establishment R’s, the George Will, Bill Kristol, Dick Wilson types realize that the “others” perhaps were close to right all along.
The globalists, largely starting with H.W. (Anyone else recall Reagan’s rather half-assed, reluctant endorsement ala zerO and Sloe right now) sold us down the river for what I genuinely believe they thought would bring us to this grand New World Order.
To some extent it has. More people living without widespread famine and most now with running water. Electricity, indoor plumbing etc. when was the last We are the World mass effort needed?
But then it spiraled out of control. We ceded our economy, our control over our pharma supplies, our manufacturing base , our steel industry, a schit-ton of our car making. One supply chain after another, washing machines, TVs, dishwashers, car tires, even the gddamn Apple phones.
And thus, we sold out our middle class. Now you can either be a CEO, work for a CEO that tells you where to order other schit from, or you can be a small business entrepreneur or work as a Subway/Pizza Hut manager and do the best you can.
This entire thing gon suck. Haaard for a lot of people. But, in my never ending optimism about Muricans and the American spirit we will come out of this even stronger and more than a little pissed off.
I see the next American industrial revolution on the horizon. Time we stayed in this new found “war footing”.
Bring it to the next generation...
