Monday Musings Corona time
Sports Cancelled.
TBD return date
Maybe football will not get cancelled. maybe it will... Maybe northern schools can move baseball to the fall with wooden bats.

Stay safe

Football should be fine, but it wouldn’t shock me if they play games in empty stadiums (insert MAC joke here). They’re going to be extremely cautious until there is a vaccine that’s made public, which could be a long time.

A vaccine will be realistically 12-18 months away! That could mean all fall and winter sports would be played without any fans! That would cost huge football schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Penn St, Clemson, etc as much as 20 million per each home game! That's 120 million for a season!Think about that...…..

Could lead to more schools dropping sports or down from division 1.

Interesting article on WMU MBB HC search for a couple reasons:

1). Who will WMU select?

2). Names mentioned (e.g., Stephens, Mann, etc.) and name not mentioned (Bronkema at Ferris State).

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports...900118001/

Bronkema, who has his own dedicated fan club on this forum, would be going up against some strong candidates.

Yea in my opinion I would've kept Hawk for another year cause of this pandemic. But what do I know.

I hope they don't hire Bronkema. We'll need him next year.

I know they don't practice social distancing at UofM FB. Doesn't everyone get about 18 (give or take) inches of bench seating?? Even worse than your least favorite airline?

And crazy remember Coronavirus is hitting hardest certain densely populated areas and just grazing more rural and small town America.

Just compare say N. Dakota and Washington, D.C. - similar population but MUCH different number of cases of Coronavirus.

Iona College is in New Rochelle, N.Y. New Rochelle was one of the first 'hot spots' for the virus.

I don't know how one can have sports near NYC for a while.

You read my mind Cow.

The line starts behind CMU! We'll be looking too if Keno doesn't turn things around.
