House unveiling its bill in just a bit. It will pass, and then the Senate can pass it. And relief will be on its way so everyone can be happy.
House bill's full of garbage too. Why can't they put together a bill that's not full of pork and ideological poison pills? Why does something so simple merit over 1100 pages of text?

RE: Senate Democrats Block Mammoth Chinese Coronavirus Stimulus Package
Serious question: Why don't they just pass the consumer/worker bailout first, then deal with the contentious parts of the deal? Who would say no to that? Both sides would look stupid saying no.
I'm not someone who usually heavily discusses politics, but that seems like it would cut out all this partisan BS and start things moving. Blaming Republicans or Democrats is stupid and akin to a playground fight at school, which is pretty typical government behavior in this era.
Just pass the bill to get the checks rolling to people who actually need it now. It's going to be a process to get those out the door anyway, the sooner it starts the better. Corporate America will get their money too, but that's the holdup.

What good is it going to do to send checks to the people if there's nowhere for them to spend them? A proper economic stimulus is spread throughout the economy, from the top to the bottom. Otherwise it's good money thrown at a bad solution.

Because that way, democrats don't get to push any of their socialist/commie ideas through.

People are in need now to have money to buy groceries. Now a lot of people will just sit on the checks since they are still working. But the time to means test would stretch it out forever. Even so, a lot of the people who most need it are mobile. So how do they get their checks if they've moved 3 times in the last year? It will take a while even if giving everyone a check.
