IOW, it's useless. I'm not making any assumptions on either side until we see the actual legislation. Peeps on both sides, including reporters, have agendas.

You're correct on the speculating and agenda driven narrative, but what I would ask is why this situation be different from the last time the economy tanked and how the money was disbursed? Has their been that much turnover in either parties leadership that would indicate a different response than 'we need to pass the bill before we can see what's in it.'

I don't disagree. You're talking to the guy who wants to eliminate political parties and reduce the fed government to the size of a large animal shelter, minus a limited # of crucial missions.

All I'm saying is why throw bricks at each other when not a dang person here has any clue what was actually proposed, what wasn't and who said what?

You certainly can't trust either side to be objective. I suspect Pelosi is the problem, but who knows? I just want to see the details myself. Problem is, we never get to see it until the deals are made out of the sunshine.

True, but he's not a real Pub, and he didn't get elected b/c he was one, or even b/c he aligned more with them. He won b/c he was an outsider who promised to drain the swamp, and that's still a big task. The swamp is deep and dark, and includes both flavors, but mostly the blue one.

JMO, but if Trump hadn't been the R nominee, I doubt any of the usual slugs would have beaten Hillary.

dems wanted funding for PP and non-profits according to some "democrat aides". I'm sure there was more to it than that though.

I understood Manchin worked out a deal with Pelosi. But apparently she saw Trump's poll numbers go up and had to stop it.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is reportedly why Democrats suddenly opposed an emergency coronavirus relief bill that had bipartisan support in the Senate.

Ditch the fake news ==> Click here to get news you can trust sent right to your inbox. It's free!
According to Ben Williamson, the chief of staff for Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), Pelosi returned to Washington, D.C., on Sunday with a wish list of sudden demands, striking down the bipartisan agreement made by the Senate.

"Senate spends all weekend negotiating a bipartisan deal. Agreement reached. Pelosi flies in from California, whips out her unrelated 'wishlist,' and says no. Senate Democrats then vote against proceeding on a bill they negotiated. Jaw dropping," Williamson explained.

John Bresnahan, Politico's Washington bureau chief, reported that Pelosi had a "laundry list" of new demands, including many items completely unrelated to COVID-19 relief, like election security funding, student loan debt forgiveness, and a "host of other issues."

Despite the Senate's agreement, Pelosi also revealed on Sunday that House Democrats would move forward with their own coronavirus relief package.

According to Politico, Pelosi's actions even have some members of the Democratic caucus questioning her motives.

Many of those same provisions are also being negotiated in the Senate bill but some House Democrats wanted to go even further, using the urgency of the herculean package to achieve broader, long term policy goals like a massive infrastructure deal.

But even some House Democrats are privately wondering what is Pelosi's endgame, especially given that lawmakers, including many in her own caucus, don't even want to return to Washington at all, much less for a standoff with the Senate.
The motive, according to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, is political — it is all about hurting President Donald Trump.

"Some Dems are betting that Trump will he received as Bush post-Katrina as opposed to Bush post-9/11. And there's a split among Dems about how they ought to be handling Trump in this moment, which so far has ended up benefiting the president," Haberman reported Sunday.

Maybe a few of them need to die of coronavirus before they realize how serious it is and cut the partisan hackery.

Link. I've read the opposite. She wanted 1 billion for abortions. Back to the talking points.

Btw, people work for corporations.

Defend this prog flith crap. Go for it. They are all aholes but democrats are the bigger ones right now.

Link: https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy...itol-hill/

Your flawless, omniscient Orange God-Emperor agrees with the Democrats on this, therefore you must as well (unless you've decided he's "prog filth" now):

“I don’t want to give a bailout to a company and then have somebody go out and use that money to buy back stock in the company and raise the price and then get a bonus,” Trump said. “So I may be Republican, but I don’t like that. I want them to use the money for the workers.”

I agree with Trump on the above. So there.

The bolded, and then get a bonus is the important part, and I'm fine with taking a momnet and removing all the crap to get a clean bill. Nothing worng with corps buying back stock when price is low, but should not use govt money to do so if they can;t do it on their own. And if they can, then they probably don;t need their portion of the bailout. So I also agree with President trump here.

AND.... Demo$#its shouting they care about dying workers when they want to murder innocent women and children with their abortion evil and using the current coronabug crisis to do so is just as wrong, actually moreso. let's take a breath and get a clean bill that actually helps American citizens (illegal border-crossers need not apply) and then get back to work and school as soon as we can. If we are going top take this course of action, we might as well do it right without he pork and slaughter the Dems want.

McCarthy just said the same thing on TV this morning. He said Pelosi wasn't about to let that bill get passed with bipartisan agreement and not get to take a major chunk of the credit for it herself.

I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist of it.

This is a water is wet post but Schumer is such a swarmy clown...perhaps if he ever actually held a job that wasn’t an elected office post law school 50 years ago he’d understand the importance to normal working people of getting this passed without a whose got a bigger d!ck competition.

I was really, really sorry that the Anthony Wiener scandal did not somehow reach out to grab Schumer.

But, to give him and Pelosi their due, I have to admit that they are stronger leaders than anyone on the republican side. To have inflicted as much harm from the minority side is actually a pretty significant accomplishment. I wish republicans had leaders that could at least lead a sex addict to a whorehouse. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, but I wish my enemies had better enemies.
