RE: States on Lockdown
Ohio and Louisiana just announced "stay at home" orders. For LA, given New Orleans was still open for normal business last weekend, thats not surprising.

RE: States on Lockdown
Ohio is stay at home, but you can go out for food, shopping for needs, medical appointments or anything else you deem necessary. You can also go out for physical activity with the family.

In other words, what most people are already doing.

Alabama? The University of Alabama is having pizza parties. They had their first case about a week ago in Huntsville.

I think that’s my definition of a lockdown. You are only allowed to go out and get emergency supplies.

Depends on your definition of lockdown. Connecticut's lockdown goes into effect tomorrow at 8 PM. Everything but grocery stores, pharmacies, health care, utilities, shipping, banking, law enforcement, and emergency personnel are shut-down. NY, NJ, and CT (the tri-state) are doing everything together.

asking or demanding, with a threat? Hugh difference, I personally wont change anything I do in my life. If its warm and sunny any day this coming week...i'm going fishing. If I want to drive and see places...I will. Driving or being by yourself on a river bank or boat will not put any other person in danger.

Thats about as far as you can really go. You cant ask people to not eat. The real problem as I see it is this---A few years ago a survey found that about 60% of the US households could not pay an unexpected $400 expense without taking out a loan or selling something. That tells me a huge chunk of people who are now out of work are going to not have money to buy food in just a matter of 7-14 days. I dont think we can keep this up very long.

Being retired gives you a lot of options that these younger people that live their life in fear...dont. This is getting crazy over something that is just a little more dangerous than the flu. Almost all of that danger is to the same group the flu does the most damage to. The sickly and really old people.

It's almost like they are testing us for something in the future to see how the sheep will react.

Illinois' shelter-in-place has about 3 dozen exemptions. Among some of the things that can stay open: hardware stores, drive-thru restaurants, outdoor parks, laundromats, day cares, banks, law firms, accounting firms, hotels, labor unions, any "essential service," almost all factories, all farms, all charitable organizations, liquor stores, and marijuana dispensaries.

So what's actually closed? Sounds like just bars, sit-down restaurants, schools, and the entertainment industry.

The executive order does not include any penalties for an individual who violates Illinois' shelter-in-place order.

Also, police are no longer responding in person. They are handling most crime investigations over the phone.

I listened to Gov. Dewine and Dr. Amy (in charge of Ohio Dep of Health) today it was nails to a chalkboard. So dang quiet outside, can't wait for this crap to be over with.

Same with Gov Abbott in Texas. Despite over 200 of the 250 counties having zero cases lots of folks saying we should have a mandatory seltzer in place. Crazy.

Aboott doing the right thing. He's leaving it to local govt (city or county) officials to make the call.
