Correct. Coach really did try to do things the right way. Gotta respect him for that, despite the losing.

It didn’t work out for rowe as a coach, and I’ve never met him, but by all accounts he appears to be a really good dude. And he is an alum who bleeds purple like all of us. I’ll be rooting for him in whatever his next venture is, in basketball or not in basketball.

And I hope we see him around the new arena and everyone gives him proper respect as a fellow Duke.

Lou Rowe is a good human being. I rooted so hard for his success. He recruited good young men. He ran a clean program. I wish he would’ve been successful.

Byington is the real deal. He is doing everything right. We will see a big improvement this year especially late in the season.

RE: MBB Coach Mark Byington
Coach B addressed engaging ex players and ex coaches about JMU and that he wants everyone to be a part of what they are building. Apparently he hasn’t spoken to Lefty but is close with Chuck- May be because Lefty is older and not in the greatest health.

I couldn’t help but wonder if he’s spoken with Lou Rowe or if it’s too raw yet. He said he’s spoken with Darren McLinton who is one of Lou’s close friends. Riley Trone even asked a question on the Duke Club session but I’m not sure if either the moderator or Coach B recognized that he was an ex player.

I also was curious if Coach B had spoken with Matt Brady or again if there is acrimony there still where Brady wouldn’t be interested in giving feedback to a JMU coach.
