RE: Culinary Thread
I've been really into root vegetables lately. Picked up some yams, potatoes, carrots, and parsnips on my last grocery run. Chopped, baked with a light drizzle of olive oil, and then lightly salted before tossing it on the plate next to the grilled chicken. Pretty good.

RE: Culinary Thread
Buy some bone in pork chops and brown them a little on each side. Make a boat out of tin foil and add the chop plus sliced carrots, sliced potato, fresh mushrooms, and some onion. Add a pad of butter and some teriyaki sauce and seal the foil. Cook at 400 for 1 hour and presto a pretty tasty meal. Make 1 boat for each person dining.

RE: Culinary Thread
Necessary thread revival. Hambone soup -- bay leaves or no?

And I just recently did some research and unburdened myself of that old tale about bay leaves being poisonous if eaten. I still steer way clear of mountain/cherry laurel though.
