Oh there are plenty of excuses available. First step to being a big time program has happened with the hiring of Kennedy but it will not automatically excite the community. Just the reality we live in today.

Second thing that needs to happen is scheduling decent OOC opponents and winning games against these opponents.

If the above happens then you will see people return to Bartow. We use to didn't have to act like we were a big time program but things aren't the same at UAB anymore. Put a good product on the floor and people will come. Simple as that.

Trouble is we have and still looked at half empty building most nights. It’s more than a new coach. It’s more than a couple descent programs on OOc schedule. It’s more than a descant product. They won’t come for just a descent product BTW. That just keeps the regulars coming and the regulars won’t halfway fill the building. It’s a long list. Coach is just one check box.

Well said. Simple but not easy. Andy will have a honeymoon period but his teams will have to produce or it won't last.

I agree, it's got to be better than decent. We need to win and win big. That's what AK is being hired for, not to make the top pod in CUSA and win 20 games. Our credibility in men's hoops is shot. We have to play and beat credible teams that are relevant and known to our market.

One of our former members has stated time and time again that UAB fans do not go to watch UAB and he is correct.
Unless you are playing Cincy, etc. there will not be anyone there.
Heck even this year we played Memphis at home and couldn't draw much.
Only way to get a sellout is to schedule Auburn and have Auburn buy 60% of the tickets.

But continue on with the fantasy of a well supported UAB team regardless of who is coach.

Funny I was at a sellout vs ECU not that long ago. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Stop being so butthurt

Funny. I was at the ECU game and it wasn’t near a sellout. What year was that again? Refresh my memory.

He is pretty much correct except for there will be people there no matter who we play (it’s just the number of people) And Auburn fans buying 60% in Bartow. BJCC probably bigger than 60%. The point hit its mark through.

Don’t think we ever sold out for ECU under Davis, even in reg season title year. Closest to a sellout was probably one of the hosted UNC games. Still needed a lot of blue to make it somewhat close. Would suggest cutting ticket prices in half for those future games
