Yeah, he has his strengths. But to defend his ability to adjust in-game, especially in Xs and Os fashion, is far fetched - it's not his strong suit. Those that try to defend it end up looking foolish. I usually don't even waste my time pointing it out anymore.

He's good at marketing, recruiting, engaging fan base, keeping his teams in national spotlight, maintaining control of his team, keeping his team on the same page and getting the attention of the players (motivating). He's made millions using these skills. I won't say he's a good Xs and Os coach. But he puts the most talented team on the floor and he gets the job done.

Yep.
I wonder how much of his recruiting success is based on being at Kentucky.

That foul really wasn't as obvious as it should've been. In fact, if that was Cal's tactic, you tell the officials what your intentions are so that you get the call.

When Chalmers let it go, I knew it was game over. Not just OT, but the whole shootin' match.

IF Kansas is down 1 point in the same situation, the crooked refs call that foul 100 out of 100 times. 3 of Dorsey's fouls, including his 5th, involved a lot less contact than that.

I didn't have an appreciation for it as much as I should have when I watched it originally; but after seeing the boxscore and watching it again at least 10 times since then, I got an appreciation for what a terrific game Dozier had. It always gets lost with everything else that happened. He was awesome.

Some, but very little. He was setup to do something similar here. On the flip side, his predecessor at UK couldn't recruit at that level at UK.

Yes he was...great 2nd half. I always thought CDR should have passed it to him instead of going for the layup.

I would add game planning to that list. John's best success has always been when John Robic works with him to develop a game plan. John is added to that list of coaches (Tom Izzo, Bruce Pearl) that if you give them a week to prepare they are tough to beat. If you can crack the game plan, you will have success.

Everyone pins it on free throws, but Kansas stole an inbound pass after a scored bucket. If that doesn't happen, ball game, banner hanging in rafters.

Billy packer told them during a TV timeout to check a 3 by Rose because his foot was on the line.

Actually it was Jim Gray who was a sideline reporter. I’ve hated him ever since.

Yep, he was always an egotistical ass. I will say it was a 2 pointer...BUT....keep your stinking nose out of business that doesn't concern you

But........the kid who stole the ball was also shown to have stepped out of bounds.

My dislike of Gray goes back to his ambush interview of Pete Rose at the 1999 All-Century baseball team. Wrong time, wrong place.

The 1985 championship was on today. Should have been played with a shot clock and should have been Memphis State playing G'town.

Keith Lee outplayed Ewing big time in the 83 game. He had like 24 and 15 I think in the Tiger win.

Kansas did NOT steal an inbound pass. The Kansas player intercepted the pass with his foot out of bounds; which POS Ed Hightower missed. You are right when you say that that blown call cost us the championship.

From up 7 shooting free throws and taking at least another 10-15 seconds off the clock, to only up 4. As much as a 5 point swing from the blown call by POS Ed Hightower.

Not only did he step out of bound with 1/2 his foot; the referee was staring right at it.

NCAA said it didn't happen, so Chalmers never hit no 3
