I checked CBS Sports and Sunday at 11AM they are showing Utah State v San Diego State. The CBS Network is showing Madam Secretary at 11AM on Sunday.

IMO the best college basketball team of all time. Maybe there’s some fan bias there but I don’t remember a team as dominant as that team. We could have gone 40-0.

I recorded it. First thing I did when I got back from San Antonio was delete the damn thing. Don't ever want to see it or hear about it again. Still a kick in the gut feeling every time I think about it.

Yeah. Truly great defensively. CDR could score at will. No one could stop D.Rose. Too bad he didn't figure that out until late in the tourney.
I remember a local news sports segment in which Robert Dozier was interviewed. They asked him (paraphrased), "you guys had a lot of blocks. Was protecting the paint a point of emphasis for Coach X in practice?" Dozier leaned back slightly, chuckled to himself and said, "That's just how we do."
Thta team knew they were good. They had a chemistry that carried over from prep ball. And X kept them on the same page.

Dozier didn't get much credit but he was a beast.

I lived in KS during the tourney (unfortunately). Big 12 fans thought we were overrated before the tourney. After the first wknd, most folks I knew were confident we would be destroyed by Michigan State and if not them, then TX. I told them these teams haven’t seen the length, strength and talent at the guard and wing spots in college BB. I felt confident we would actually win easily just cuz I had seen State and TX play a ton that year. However didn’t expect the destruction we unleashed that weekend. When I went back to work on Monday wearing Tiger gear, there was constant bowing from everyone. They had never seen a college b’ball team be this good and play so well ever.

CBS to re-air classic NCAA Tournament games
Beginning this Saturday and continuing the following weekend, the network is replaying a select number of NCAA Tournament classics.
On Saturday, CBS will air the 1982 national championship game between North Carolina and Georgetown at noon ET. The ’83 title game between N.C. State and Houston will follow at 2 p.m. with the 1992 East Regional final between Duke and Kentucky ending the tripleheader at 4 p.m.
The next day, CBS will show replays of the 2008 national championship game between Kansas and Memphis (noon ET), the ’19 title game between Virginia and Texas Tech (2 p.m.) and the ’16 national final featuring Villanova and North Carolina (4 p.m.).
On Sunday, March 29, CBS will feature another tripleheader of classic NCAA Tournament games: the 1985 national championship game between Villanova and Georgetown (1 p.m. ET), the ’97 title game featuring Arizona and Kentucky and the 2010 final between Duke and Butler (4 p.m.).

I agree. You get an appreciation for how good that team was when you watch them in that tournament. The total dismantling of Michigan State was a great example. No offense to our more recent teams, but that 2008 group played at a whole different level.

That was a very good team. Got it set to tape. Be the first time since that day to watch it.

When I want to see that team I watch the Michigan State and UCLA games on YouTube. I watched the first half of that game at the Fieldhouse with the crowd and the second half from my hotel room At the end I was on my knees on the floor with my head buried in the bed. I’ve never seen it since and most likely never will.

Westwood One (CBS radio) is doing same thing on radio.
Memphis Kansas is at halftime right now I've been listening to it while jogging.
28 pts at half and Douglas-Roberts had 13 - he and Rose were having to work so hard. No wonder they ran out of gas at the end. Also little backup PG Collins was bothering Rose in 1st half as well as late - not having Allen really killed them.
