How will this pandemic change America forever.....
Reading news that Universal Studios is going straight to home streaming with The Hunt and The Invisible Man got me to thinking, what if it’s a success? Do other studios follow Universal’s lead? Could Covid-19 lead to movie theaters going the way of drive ins?
What else will change? More people ordering groceries on line? Will we see a baby boom late this year?
Change is coming...

I work point of sale in restaurants and know this. What restaurants survive this will never be the same again.
And all of those servers and bartenders that pride themselves on making "tax-free" money are in for an eye opener when they go to the unemployment office and realize you don't get paid on tips you didn't claim.

Also, if business travel will go the way of the dodo bird with virtual meetings taking center stage.
Perhaps, higher education going even more virtual.
While telecommuting would be a great change (environmentalists should love it) you know schools and businesses are going to revert back to physical presence under the pretense of greater productivity despite evidence to the contrary.
Without a physical presence there’s no reason for colleges to build all the dorms and charge for the ancillary student activities. Businesses are simply runs by those who loath the idea of paying someone for 8 hours of work that can actually be accomplished in three.

Remote work's not going to happen. That would involve management techniques to not be so heavily micro and managers being willing to relinquish a level of control that having employees physically present offers.
I honestly can see this being seen as a roadblock and us going back to business as usual two years from now. If this drags on for a decade like the depression did, maybe things would change a little, but right now everyone's trying desperately to keep everything the same as it was, or as close as it could be without them looking like a menace to society.

Probably more acceptance of things like online education/home-schooling, tele-working, and the like. There are a bunch of lower quality restaurants (both chains and locally owned) that will not re-open. Lower quality movie theaters, colleges, theme parks, and airlines could struggle, too. I'm sure there will at least be talk of making the supply chain less China dependent (little action though).
Also, I think the "open borders" crowd will be muffled for a bit. Maybe the government-health-care crowd too, but that depends on how it plays out - its the private health companies that will solve this, whether folks recognize it or not.
The only thing I'm sure of is that the European Union will not survive, as it has already been shown to be a fraud in the last weeks.
It would be nice if the Iranian regime and the CCP would collapse from this too - the former maybe so but the latter probably not unless the "don't make everything in China" talk becomes action.

Hey, if it isn't a touchless sink and drying system (preferably without blowers) I'd rather use baby wipes or sanitizer or any other improvised band aid really.

Modern day Entrepreneurs will see a quick demise. I am talking about people who have made up jobs to stay home and avoid really entering the workforce. These people are borderline scammers and system leeches....
