"Republicans in Pennsylvania gave President Trump and the national party a shot in the arm Tuesday, delivering three special state House elections to the GOP, including one district won by Hillary Clinton in 2016.
While all three seats had been held by Republicans, the 18th District seat in Bucks County was expected to turn Democrat and confirm the Democratic swing that gave Clinton a 9-point win in 2016...."
Special house races in the midst of a pandemic - whose bright idea was that?
District 8 won by Republicans 3941 to 1288 votes
District 18 won by Republicans 4514 to 3631 votes
District 58 won by Republicans 4267 to 3293 (556 votes for the Libertarian guy too)
Why not a separate thread for the winner of the dogcatcher race?

Special state house races won by the left used to be the rage around here.

The election date was announced on January 7th, before the pandemic took hold in the US.
Since Pennsylvania already had a state-primary scheduled for April 28th, a lot of people complained that holding a separate Election Day for these three seats was a needless expense, and I agree with that.
If Trump holds PA, he wins again. He isn't losing a single tossup state he won in 2016. I would already count FL and Ohio in the bag for him. Winning PA means there is no electoral path for Sloe Joe or Bolshevik Bernie.
Bucks County surprises me. Kind of a new money, new suburb of Philly. Used to be republican, but been trending democrat since at least 2000 when the NE Philly and S Jersey libs started building the subdivisions. Trump won because he turned the blue collar vote in Western PA (think Deer Hunter). If he is starting to turn the Philly suburbs, he is going to win PA big. I am skeptical though (knowing little about the race) and guessing the rep is a RINO running against a bad candidate. Philly suburbs are like Northern Virginia left.

I think Trump could lose Michigan to Biden.
Honestly, I still consider Michigan a blue state. That being said, do the math on an electoral map from 2016. Trump could win every state he won (not a longshot by any means) and lose Mich and Wisc.... and he still wins.
All he needs to win PA, and WV and OH, among others, is to keep playing the GND stuff. Coal miners and oil patch workers are not going to vote to eliminate fossil fuels.

why?
asking fo" a friend....
Trump won Michigan by about 10K votes in 2016, when Hillary basically didn't campaign there.
The governor, both Senators and the most outspoken Representative are all Dems, so Dems win elections there.
Trump has had nasty spats with both the new gov and Dingell. Both women. Suburban women don't like that stuff.
Not saying he WILL lose. Saying he COULD lose.
The one saving grace for Trump is Johnson garnered about 172K votes in Michigan, and most of those likely were pulled from Trump, not Hillary.
