Keep an eye on Tarleton State possibly adding Konstantin Dotsenko, 6'7" SF from Russia. Appears to be really young fluid player.

This leave Gillispie with only three players taller than 6'5 on his roster, 6'7 Gaffney, 6'8 Ngalamulume, and 6'8 Redd. Looks like the Texans will be playing small ball this season.

BCG literally just offered a 2022 5'6" G from Texas. You read that right: a 5'6" Guard. I have to believe he is banking on these kids to grow. Hicks and Madimba are only 17/18, both could easily be 6'6 - 6'7 by their sophmore season. Hicks is a big body 6'5 G with handles and a deep shot, he is going to play all over the court. Speed and versatility is gonna be the name of the game.

On the first read I thought you meant "grow" as in maturity, skills, experience. Fine, of course.

Then I read again and it sounds like you're literally expecting inches, plural. Come on man, I know Stephenville's got a great municipal water supply but I don't think it can do that for them.

Growing an inch or two as a freshman is not that uncommon. In rare cases, much more than that. Rodman was 5'9 after graduating high school, by sophmore year in college he was 6'8

Its rare a boy (young man) will grow more than an inch or two after the age of 18. But in some rare cases they can have a significant growth spurt.

The Admiral David Robinson was only 5'9 after his Junior year of high school (age 16). After his Senior year of high school (age 17), he had grown to 6'6 and signed to play at the Naval Academy. At the time, the Naval Academy had a height restriction of 6'6 to be a midshipmen. However, by the time Robinson showed up at Annapolis (age 18) he was 6'7 and required a waiver to enter the Academy. The waiver was given with the assumption he would not grow any further. However, by the start of his Sophomore year at Navy (age 19), he grew to 7'0. He finally topped out at 7'1 at the end of his Senior year (age 21). Because of Robinson's size, he never serve on a Naval ship. So, David Robinson essentially grew 16-inches in just over a five year span.

Back in the 1980's NMSU had a player named Johnny Roberson from San Antonio, TX who was only 6'4 as a HS senior when he signed with NMSU. By the time he showed up on campus his freshmen year, he had grown to 6'8. He didn't grow any further but he turned out to be a very good forward for NMSU. His son Andre Roberson (who was born in Las Cruces, NM) currently plays in the NBA for the Oklahoma Thunder. So, it is possible (not probable) that some of Gillispie's signees could grow a few inches by the time they put on a Texan uniform and thereafter.

I remember Mike Dunleavy grew almost 6 inches at Duke.
