When you put it that way, you come across as trying to minimize or deny the severity of the pandemic.

Rather than simply reiterating what you have written previously, I would invite you to respond to the explanation that I provided above, which is that different results will be obtained, depending on how a Covid-19 "case" is defined ("cases" could be the % of the population who would test positive for Covid-19, or the % of the population who have Covid-19 antibodies, indicating that they had a true case and had a full immunological response).

The 6% rate (actually 5.8% at present) is the correct current mortality rate among confirmed Covid-19 cases.

That is an "operational definition," which is what is required in scientific research

The only other way to compute the Covid-19 mortality rate is to use various methods (that can also be defined operationally) to estimate the actual number of Covid-19 cases and deaths.

There are various estimates of the actual Covid-19 mortality rate, depending on how "Covid-19 cases" are defined, but most experts have estimated that the actual Covid-19 mortality rate may be closer to 1%.

===========================================

"United States

(Confirmed) Coronavirus Cases: 1,724,577

Deaths: 100,512

100,512/1,724,577 = .058 = 5.8%"
