RE: Kowalczyk radio interview
It's hilarious what TK is advocating - Let the seniors come back for another year, but they count against the 13-player scholarship limit. So if a team has already signed incoming freshmen to letters of intent so that there are no remaining scholarships, then that team's seniors don't have the option of returning. Of course, if you're a coach who has had a mass exodus of players transferring out and who only has one senior interested in returning, that seems like a reasonable outcome. On the other hand, if you're a high school senior who was hoping to get a basketball scholarship or if you're a college senior on a team that recruited well in the early signing period and doesn't have a ton of guys transferring out, this idea doesn't look so great.

Way to go, TK, seeing this as an opportunity to help your team competitively rather than an opportunity to be fair to student-athletes. In the interview, TK specifically says that, if seniors are allowed to return for another year, Akron will benefit more than Toledo will, and that wouldn't be fair. If we're trying to be fair to players, then all of Akron's seniors get to return, and guys who have already signed letters of intent also get their scholarships.

Personally, I say move on. Coronavirus sucks. A lot of people have been hurt in a lot of ways. Most of those people will never be "made whole."

Well I doubt he saw 4 players leaving plus 2 seniorsgraduating so if you can get one to come back because he never got to realise his dreams because of a virus... that's okay... And I'm not a TK supporter.

Willie is an awesome guy by his philanthropy so I'd be fine with taking a leader like that for one more year.

RE: Kowalczyk radio interview
as I've stated Willie deserves a 4th year of eligibility since he only got 3 seasons and none of those were complete. Due to the timing of Missouri's exams his transfer to UT meant his eligibility clock kept running during his RS year which is highly uncommon. Willie was eligible for 88 of 124 regular season games and only played 1 postseason. Even if he came back and played every game he wouldn't play as many college games as the average healthy player does in 4 years.
