Fun exercise: Sunbelt living alumni
I saw a thread similar to this on the ACC board and thought it might be interesting to do it here. Might also give us some more concrete ideas on conference realignment as well.

I'll start with Troy University: over 100,000 living alumni

Sunbelt living alumni:

Appalachian State: 130,000
Arkansas State: 90,000+
Coastal Carolina:
Georgia Southern: 120,000+
Georgia State: 200,000* (approximate number)
Louisiana:
South Alabama:
Texas State:
Troy: 100,000+
UALR:
ULM: 64,000
UTA: 225,000

My older Brother is a 1965 grad of Troy State. I am sure he is not the oldest but one of their older ones.

Why include Armstrong alumni? I can understand using the Armstrong campus' current numbers for GS attendance because it is now GS. But as far as the past alumni go, they never were under the GS umbrella so why would we count them? They are simply alumni of a school that doesn't exist anymore.

Our alumni association includes them in our reporting. Any Armstrong alumni that want to support the Armstrong Campus and stay connected to their fellow Armstrong alumni can do so through our alumni association.

That's fine, I guess. Just sounds weird to do.

Sort of like when the Japanese invaded Manchuria

Not really. I'm sure Armstrong State alumni can make sure their contributions go direct to the Armstrong State campus. Japan didn't give the Chinese any options whatsoever.
