Europe has August shutdown 5 months early
Everyone in Europe tends to go on vacation in August. Now instead of traveling they are staying home. Spain, France and Italy are all on lockdown.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-51892477

"...In Spain, people are banned from leaving home except for buying essential supplies and medicines, or for work.

With 191 deaths, Spain is Europe's worst-hit country after Italy.

In France, where 91 people have died, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and most shops are now shut.

Italy, which has recorded more than 1,440 deaths, began a nationwide lockdown on Monday...."

A former faculty colleague of mine posted an interesting suggestion. Why not quarantine the folks at risk, and let the rest go about living their lives? That seems a lot smarter to me than chasing this testing stuff.

Agree. I already quarantined myself until further notice. I have no symptoms, and I intend to keep it that way.

I can't self-quarantine tomorrow, because I have commitments. But after tomorrow, we have extended spring break a week and we go to all online courses for the rest of this semester. The one question I have is if I take the boat out and go fishing, is that being self-quarantined?

Yes, it is. Remember, it’s important to not 2nd guess one’s self when making these kind of decisions. You can’t be indecisive. Indecision kills.

Absolutely. Just don't sneeze on the fish.

I think the bigger problem would be if the fish sneezed on me. But it's pouring rain this morning, so that's one fishing trip that is getting postponed.

Yep I have been saying the same thing. All the high risk people, stay at home, no visitors. Instead of shutting the world down to protect the 1%, shut the 1% down to protect themselves.

But you have too many idiots out there who want this to devastate the world.
