Also read that we've reached out to Santa Clara's Trey Wertz. 6'4 combo guard that averaged around 12, 4 & 4 while shooting 40% from 3. He has 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Or he's not interested in us.

His Falcons team beat the Cats so he may look at it as a lateral move LOL. Seriously, if he's getting a lot of attention then more power to him to go where his heart is.

Would really like to land Evan Cole, as he is a proven backup big in the ACC. With some of the low- and mid-major guys, you don't know exactly what you're getting due to the competition level.

Started his career at New Mexico (like McNeal) then transferred after one season. He was Arkansas's starting point guard two seasons ago, then became their 6th man this past season after a coaching change.

Doesn't appear to be a strong outside shooter.

Jalen Tate entered the portal. Echoing what others have said, I've heard it's likely he ends up a Bearcat, fwiw.

RE: 20-21 bearcats
a coupla questions/observations about grad transfers: is it still true that they have to choose a grad program that isn't offered at their soon to be former school?

is it even worth it to grad transfer? you get lost in the shuffle of equally as talented players and out of a better situation playing wise and perhaps whatever spotlight you already were in. i'd be hard pressed if coaches will opt not to redshirt players in the future based on how f*ckin retarded the portal is

You nailed it. Coaches will be conflicted. Redshirt plus 3 playing costs you 4 years of scholarship and just set the player up to walk.

We didn't make the final 5 for Quinnipiac's Kevin Marfo.

Darn. I guess we'll just have to keep watching him in "Hercules" reruns.

Pesik's been over there hinting for some time that Harvey is going to transfer out. Any of you deep insiders hearing the same?

I now nothing regarding Harvey but I won't be surprised if we have a basketball player transfer out every year now with the portal. Harvey had brief flashes of excellence this season but didn't demonstrate that he's a certain starter next season. I hope he's back. If not, I'll trust Brannen to find talent and put the right individuals together as a team.

Apparently we won’t have Keith Williams in 20-21. He posted a message thanks fans and announcing that he will be entering the NBA draft...

Seems delusional to me. Average shooter and poor ball handler/passer. NBA is looking for skilled guards.

That's not a good move unless he's not hiring an agent. I kind of doubt he wants to go back to Nyc soon for obvious reasons.

One guy replied to his post on twitter:

"The NBA draft??"

You can hire an agent now and still return. Jarron did last year. In fact, the tone of Keith's message reminds me a lot of Jarron's message last year, too.

If you're a 3rd year player as talented as Jarron and Keith, you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to go about the pre-draft process.
