BREAKING: NCAA likely to grant additional year of eligibility
Looks like the NCAA is going to give an additional year of playing eligibility to all spring sports athletes. The winter sports will likely be on the docket, too.

RE: BREAKING: NCAA likely to grant additional year of eligibility
Gonna be interesting to see how they deal with balancing the numbers. If your 2020 classes are already signed and nobody on your current team is losing eligibility the numbers don't quite add up.

I'd love for winter sport athletes to get another year too for selfish reasons. I mean we have the SBC player of the year who's a senior. But half those guys actually did play their entire seasons with no disruptions (teams already eliminated from conference tourneys who weren't going to the post-season) and most of the rest were only guaranteed one more game. Seems silly to allow another year to the winter sport athletes but hey if it helps TXST I'm down.

I would suggest letting guys in their terminal year of eligibility have the option of staying one more season and have their scholarships not count towards the maximum number. If you let everyone in spring sports have a free year, whose scholarships don't count towards the max and for how long?
