RE: Transfer Portal
Jalen King put his name in the portal, per Verbalcommits on twitter.

Now we absolutely need 2 centers.

Not a loss at all! Great kid, huge at 6'10", but simply had zero offensive game! He should transfer to D2, but some D1 school will like his size! Best of luck to him!

Yep. He played hard (sometimes too hard), but he never improved offensively. I wish him well.

Good luck to the young man. He’s a guy who could thrive in the GLIAC.

RE: Transfer Portal
Idk about the truth of the Jalen King Transfer.

The Verbal Commits EMU page says he will be transferring per a link. The link it leads to is this: https://twitter.com/robmurphyEMU/status/...0143299584

Which is a tweet welcoming him.

Looking at his socials (Twitter and instagram) there is nothing announcing anything:

https://twitter.com/Jking45_

https://www.instagram.com/jalen86/?hl=en

So it may be a misunderstanding or they may know something else.

When Ballard played, was it usually at center? I know earlier in the season, he got minutes at forward before Binelli returned from injury. But I believe later in the season he played at center?

Yes he usually played the post. Derek seems to be GREAT kid, but he is not a D1 basketball player. I'm glad to have him at EMU, however.

I am not trying to make too much of Ballard, but he did have a major impact in winning the Buffalo game for us. So with the center ranks thin next year, he might be at least a contributor however minimal.
