Michigan Bans Most All Gatherings > 250 People
Includes churches as far as we know.
Quote:(WWJ) Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed an executive order temporarily banning all gatherings of over 250 people in Michigan.
Executive Order 2020-5 takes effect at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 13 and ends at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 5.
Under the order, all events and shared-space assemblages of more than 250 people are temporarily prohibited in the state.
Certain gatherings are exempt from this prohibition, including for the purpose of:
Industrial or manufacturing work;
Mass transit; or
Shopping for groceries or other consumer goods.
It appears the ban will apply to churches, as well as businesses that are not covered by the exemptions as described above.

Same thing in Maryland:
Quote:All public schools in Maryland will be closed for two weeks, gatherings of more than 250 people are banned and the governor has activated the National Guard to a higher state of readiness.
Gov. Larry Hogan announced drastic safety measures Thursday afternoon to try to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Public schools will be closed March 16 through March 27, officials said.

I've been studying for the last month or so for the Professional Engineer Exam in mid-April. It's an 8 hour long test conducted in a large room with over 300 people taking the test. I imagine they'll be postponing or outright cancelling it soon.

Another local government stepping up because Washington, especially Trump, have no plan and provide no leadership.

Ummm... I've seen pretty detailed and comprehensive plans from Trump.
The one problem I have seen is the delays getting testing out. What I am wondering is why we didn't start out immediately using the WHO-developed test, instead of taking the time to develop our own. The CDC information website seems to suggest that it would have taken too long to get FDA approval of the WHO test. If that's the case, then I have to wonder if we wouldn't have been better off without CDC or FDA.
OK, so maybe Trump should have exercised leadership in this way. If that is a true recitation of the facts, then he should have called the heads of CDC and FDA and told them, "This is a F-ing emergency folks. You figure out how to get those tests out starting today, or I'll fire you tomorrow."
