I like AK (and TJ) but I also wish we were aiming a little higher. Might not be realistic but we need a major jump start to our credibility. Andy is an improvement but not really a shot heard round the basketball world.

Give us a few examples of who a "shot heard round the basketball world" might be outside of stealing a head coach from a major D-1 program. That isn't happening this time around.

Thad Matta is one. Interviewed at Ole Miss and UGA last go round but couldn't or wouldn't pass their physicals. A long shot, I know. I'm just enjoying the renewed optimism.

It ain't the 1970's and no new Gene Bartow is riding in. Andy is the guy and I'm happy about it.

Thad Matta's brother Greg played at UAB in the mid 80s. Greg is also a coach.

Stanford is sitting on a 28 Billion dollar endowment. They can easily pay Ehsan to fly around recruiting.

Nobody wants to have to find a new place to live if they are happy where they are. Why not try for the job down the road?

Regarding Bucky, if anybody believes he was running a clean program to get those particular kids to transfer in, you are dumb. It’s the same stuff coach Clark, Rush Propst and Josh Niblett do in HS football.

Not much different from what Penny did at Memphis East. Except he didn’t coach or sponsor an AAU team.

Bucky has had more dirty recruiting stuff that would make our leading candidate blush.

Pretty much any decent player at Pinson or some of the other schools will dramatically transfer into Mountain Brook.

You can't do that stuff at Samford.

Not at all. McMillan is an up and coming coach that done an amazing job at MB. Samford is the perfect spot for him to get his feet wet at the Div I level.

There are several people on this board who do know things, for certain. The thing is that if you hear them while the info isn't public, you can't say anything or you lose your source and never hear anything else from them. Whether you like it or not (or believe it or not, for that matter) it remains true.

I knew who the three finalists for AD were. I knew who the choice was before it was announced. I was texting daily with someone on the inside.

It's hard when you see everyone on the board asking and speculating about what's going on. It's difficult not to say something like "They have the list down to three people, and we should know something by Thursday". You either keep shut, and leave all the speculation and bad info out there, or you say what you *can* say. If you give any sort of partial info while not revealing what you were told in secret, you wind up on the wrong end of posts like this.
