Possibly, we probably would have been 6 years ago.

These last 6 years haven't been very kind to us

Better than Notre Dame and Oklahoma? Of course.

Cincy at 17 impressed me. Louisville in top 10. To have someone understand their values, yet not value Memphis surprises me.

Wasn't room for Memphis given the Big 10 bias. Notre Dame, Purdue, Maryland, Michigan. What has Oklahoma done? Come on.

Would not have been any question by anyone 10-12 years ago. But we haven't done much since JP's arrival.

Oklahoma has a much better historical profile than some think - 5 Final 4, 9 Elite 8, 10 Sweet 16 along with 2 nat runnerups.
That is a Top 25 program.

Certainly more impressive than I realized. Probably the same way outsiders look at our program.

These sites are done by adolescents in their parents’ basements.

I was dubious of them being included too, so I did some research. And after I did, I have to admit I had to agree that they actually should be considered for this list.

They've only been to two Final Fours and one National Championship game (losing to UCLA). But, they've also been to a dozen Sweet Sixteens (one more than Memphis), and Five Elite Eights (one less).

However, when you also consider that Purdue has won the most Big Ten regular season championships (24) of any other member school, including Indiana, Ohio State Michigan and Michigan State, I can see why they could be included before Memphis.

Finally, they've had 13 Consensus All Americans, and two "national players of the year". In contrast, Memphis had has eight consensus All Americans.

So, hate to say it, but Purdue probably has a better "over all" history to be considered top 25.

Screw that website. Websites that make me have to click multiple times just to get through what should be one article are on my crap list.

I can't see Cincy on this list if we look at only recent history. But when you take in their entire history, it makes sense.

On the other hand, I'm having a hard time making an argument that Memphis has a better history than any of the teams on the list, when you look at the entire history of these other teams. Based on total history of all the programs listed, would you put Memphis ahead of any of the others? If so, why?

That is a Top 25 program.

Some of those are ancient:
1939: Elite 8, Final 4 (8 teams)
1943: Elite 8, Consolation
1947: Elite 8, Final 4 (8 teams), National Championship Runner-up

In the 1940's and 1950's the NIT was that better of the two tournaments. Most of the best teams were in the NIT but some played in both.
