Some good news:
University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine announced that the vaccine, when tested in mice, produces antibodies specific to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that could be enough to fight off the virus.

RE: Covid 19 public service thread
Wife and I have gone through having C19. Our symptoms were moderate. We did not go to the hospital, since we did not have respiratory distress and would not have been tested. We self-quarantined as directed. Tell tale symptom for us was the complete loss of our sense of smell and near complete loss of taste associated with smell (taste derived from the taste buds - sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami remained). I finally have some energy back after two weeks. Still no sense of smell, though my wife's sense of smell is slowly returning. Just wanted to pass our experience along since the loss of smell is not getting much attention in the media and has not officially been listed as a symptom by the CDC. Theory is the virus actually kills the nerve cell receptors in the nasal passage that are responsible for smell. These cells should regenerate, though it can take up to four weeks.
Stay safe everyone.

Thanks, boys are asymptomatic, but we are operating under the assumption they all had/have it. Pretty much impossible to sequester the kids when both parents have it at the same time. Fortunately, school had already been canceled and we had been social distancing before the onset of our symptoms.

Question: Did you also have diarrhea before the onset of the flu type symptoms? Read an article recently, that said in over 50% of the cases, the patient had suffered from it, before getting the full blown symptoms.
Story also talked about the loss of sense of smell. The Utah Jazz player that got it early, talked about that as the most unusual symptom he had, as well.

My symptoms roughly in order of occurrence:
sore throat
dry cough
nasal/upper respiratory congestion (moderate)
loss of smell/taste
fever/body aches/mild nausea
In addition to the above, fatigued throughout. No GI issues. Fever was mild (99-100.5) and lasted about a week. Some tightness in chest, but never difficulty breathing. Wife's progression was almost identical.

Yes, I've been wondering about Nogre as well. Hope you are recovering well. It has been close to two weeks so hopefully you are on the back end of symptoms by now.
I would like to hear about Nogre's symptoms (and thanks to WMTribe90 as well; glad you and your wife have recovered) because hearing from folks who have credibility on this board can be better than hearing from the yammering talking heads on television.

RE: Covid 19 public service thread
Im alive, technically recovered, but not exactly.
Symptoms were as follows:
-High Fever and malaise for 3 days
-Simultaneous Dry cough (barky, then wheezy) that I have had for 3+ weeks, but nearly resolved after 2 weeks
-Never had shortness of breath, but did have strange deep-seated low-grade chest burning, which my mind localized to the bronchi/bronchioles (imagine a sort throat, but much lower down)
-Mild sore throat and headache for a couple days
-No diarrhea, body aches etc
-Cough was only thing for about 10 days, felt fine to the point that I could exercise at home
Atypical ending:
10 days after primary symptoms significantly improved, developed severe lightheadedness that persisted even when recumbent. 2 days of that, followed by less lighthead, but now with vague numbness/stiffness/weakness in hand and face. Workup was negative for more scary processes that have been described with SARS (Guillan-Barre etc). Post-viral autonomic neuropathy is what the most likely culprit. Might last months.

Glad you are doing better! You might not be completely out of the woods yet but at least you are out of the jungle portion. Thanks for the info!
