LOL. Win/Win

But, maybe I will come back under different names like a couple on here.

With the standards to get tested so high, we will likely never know the real amount of cases or deaths.

But if y'all want to put your access to the ODU board on incomplete data, feel free.

Can you over-write rep? Just set the loser's rep to -100 and see how long it takes to get them back into the green. I enjoy both posters' contributions and it would be a fun mini game when football gets cancelled next and this board has nothing to do.

RE: OT- Corona Virus- Where do we go from here?
Our company-wide work from home directive was extended until April 20th yesterday. It was due to expire Sunday. In our main New York office, the current confirmed infected count is three. Considering how difficult tests are to find currently that number is probably low. We are not getting daily reports from the outlying New York locations or other domestic or international locations. At the Norfolk office, there have been no reports of anyone testing positive. Of the 125 people here I'm the only one coming in daily with 16 others authorized to come in the suite but no more than three can come in at any given time. There is a very complex color-coded spreadsheet on my office wall currently to keep track of it all.

I would be surprised if anything is back to normal before May, probably sometime in the summer.

If it goes that long, God help us. The economy cannot withstand more than a month of this.

RE: OT- Corona Virus- Where do we go from here?
I've sent out a survey for all employees to fill out to asses what we need to do in the event we're all sent home. Things like "Do you have a home computer? Do you have a monitor at home? A 2nd monitor? Would you like to use your TV as a monitor? Do you have internet at home?" Let some data inform our plan.

Right now my guess is we're at about 50% of our staff are working form home in some capacity right now. We're now in uncharted territory with our infrastructure with the volume of people using the virtual environment and remote desktop. Having to shut some servers down tonight and divert resources to the connection servers as a precaution. But so far I think we'll be able to accommodate nearly 100% work from home but I don't think it'll come to that all at once. I think it'll depend on where they are. Charlotte looking like the first to go into a mandatory everyone stay home scenario.

I hadn't read that thongs were affected by the virus. LOL!

That would certainly discourage social distancing

Silver lining: this should create a baby boom. Fresh wave of taxpayers in twenty years to keep social security and Medicare alive when I’m ready to retire.

I know you're just joking, but if I was planning to start a family I'd really have to think twice about doing it right now.

I’m not joking at all. You put a man and women in close quarters for an extended period of time (married or not). And children get produced. That’s just how nature works. No judgment. And more power to you Ever. Carpe diem!

OT- Corona Virus- Where do we go from here?
Not going to lie, while Im not that worried about the virus, I am a bit worried about the economy. My industry should weather this relatively well and I think I'm well positioned to survive layoffs should it get there... but you never know. Right now business development is taking a hit, but we are getting paid. If schit hits the fan, we'll circle the wagons and figure it out. Not going to set aside goals over a virus.

Feel for those in any industry looking at slowdowns or shutdowns. Luckily, I'm insulated working in the healthcare industry. No days off for us.

Im in GovCon and all of our contracts are deemed essential. Everything outside of a warehouse and a SCIF has gone remote. No new opportunities as contracting officers are focusing on execution and extending currect work as opposed to recompeting so current contracts are safe. Im in the middle of 2 proposals and both have been extended 2 months and awaiting Q&A since February.
