So, lets review:

- No NCAA's
- No Basketball
- No Hockey
- No Baseball (for now)
- No fans at golf

Anything else?
No soccer. MLS suspended games as well.

There's enough "classic" product out there for them to use.

I woudn't mind watching some classic games.

I could be proven wrong but I think this is HUGE overreaction. As the weather warms the spread of this pandemic will slow and eventually stop.

Its a waaaay overreact. This has killed 39 people in the US. SARS and H1N1 (Bird Flu) killed 17,000 in the US. This flu season alone this year has killed 14,000 people in the US.

If spring athletes don't have their scholarships suspended and given back a year (if they want it) then this will be horrid for those athletes, especially if you are a senior.

It's not an overreaction. It's an appropriate response to a virus with no prevent and no cure.

All that is happening is a "flattening of the curve." It really sucks now, but the hope is we can deter a major spike.

The mortality rate tends to average anywhere from 3% to 7% for coronavirus, depending on country.

Flu typically hovers around .004% mortality rate. And we have preventative measures to tamper down the spread of flu.

Think about this. Hypothetically, If the entire world caught the flu...using a worldwide population of around 6.8 billion people...

27,000,000 million people would perish.

Using the mortality rate of coronavirus, which seems to spread at a pretty high rate...and a 3.5% mortality...

238,000,000 million people would perish.

So you were good with keeping things status quo and seeing if COVID19 could kill over 17,000 people?

They can't think about it because to some people, sports can beat COVID19.

Not gonna happen. Nor should it. It wouldn't be fair to the incoming freshman class.

Earlier this afternoon on ESPN, Jay Bilas was making a point about this. Talking about the senior players he said, "we shouldn't call these people kids. They are not kids. They are grown adults who understand how the real world works. This is real life. They know that sometimes there are difficult things in life that we as adults just cannot control. This is one of those things."

I thought it was a pretty legit statement. These grown adults will just have to move on with their lives just like everyone else.

....and people wonder why the stock market tanked. LOL! That's a ton of money NOT going to be made in the next 30 days. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Wall Street knew this before everybody else did.

I concur. It's the most absurd example of a media driven "pile on" that I've ever witnessed. Some of it is just silly. And while everybody feels good about taking these actions right now, the fact is it WILL have a lasting negative impact financially on many companies, many sports and many people. It's just sad.

What a moron. But what do you expect from someone from Alabama. Especially one that roots for a school that has no control over their own governing body.

The mortality rate of the coronavirus is the same with the flu if you have an immune system. Most of the deaths world wide that spike the trend up for this virus is those people who have no immune system. In other words former cancer/chemo patients, people with failing kidneys or lung/breathing problems. That is the only difference. All I said was SARS and H1N1 was more deadly and there wasn't the Mass Hysteria like there is now.

Also you can't tell me that the CDC doesn't already have a vaccine ready to go, its just not said anything yet or still waiting on some clinicals to be over. They had a vaccine ready to go with SARS/H1N1 2 1/2 weeks after it started but didn't release them until 3 1/2 months after both started.

So yes what is being done is an overreact. Are people just trying to cover their rear, sure.

Oh, good lord, Somebody give riley the hook! 03-lmfao

Nearly 1.25 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day. An additional 20-50 million are injured or disabled. More than half of all road traffic deaths occur among young adults ages 15-44.

And yet, we don't quit driving cars, do we?

This isn't an argument one can win or lose. It just is.

No need to get personal. We are all people with real jobs and families who are all going to be affected.

But I hope you all are right, and we can move on quickly as a society.
