You'd have to lay at least $50 to win that $5

Bet the NIT is cancelled, too much money involved for the hypocritical NCAA to shut down their tourney.

Serves the NCAA right, they screwed up our season and that's what they get, I expect a player to test positive and the whole thing shut down in a couple of days.

Hard to say who will do what BUT pressure is mounting to just shut everything non-essential down.

Sports is about as non-essential as it gets regardless of how much money is wasted on it.

The NBA can easily take a break and then resume play and playoffs at a later date. The NCAA on the other hand is going to miss their window completely. I can't see them playing the tournament in May. It's probably done for now.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see them delay it a few weeks. If that isn’t logistically possible, then it might be one for the record books.

Once there has been some “social isolation” of players, referees, and coaching staffs and things settle, or more information becomes available on how to combat it, things may crank back up if possible. Lots of moving pieces in all of this.

Easy to delay NBA, almost impossible to delay tournament unless they brought all the teams to one or 2 arenas. But, without the conference tournament results how do you pick the teams anyway? Do you make each conference send who they want?

Like ACC gets 10 teams and AAC gets 2? Not going to happen.

I don’t know if it is that simple for the NBA. Player contracts and the union have dates that might get impacted with a delay. The draft has to move, along with all the other stuff involved with the business of the game. Lots of crap in play and it’s calendar-based.

Probably just use the usual committee, but have them evaluate on regular season results? It can’t be any worse than some of the choices they have made in the past...

Each conference would use the "regular season" champion as the league rep to the NCAA. The regular season champ is a better choice anyway, that is the true best team of the league. Not some four day tournament champ. But either way the committee will pick the teams, pretty much as usual. But I seriously think it won't happen now.
