Honestly, the president only has a few tools at his disposal to actually effect the market in either direction.
Destroying China would help.

That is in the offing regarding of the outbreak or even Trump's policies. Simply put, the world is not a large enough sink for China's consumer output.

How about the ex-head of the CDC? He said this earlier today:

1. Cancel all LARGE gatherings (thousands).

2. Don't shake hands.

3. Stay home if ill.

That's it. But peeps are canceling every damn thing. We could have played all those dang basketball games in front of officials and families, and televised them. I blame all this on Rudy Gobert.

RE: Go About Your Business
I’ve been working in Atlanta for several weeks and was not due to leave here on a flight until next Thursday. I’ve thought this was all baloney for a while but a friend of ours who is pretty steady and is a director for a company that has some connections to the CDC had some unsettling advice to pass along. In the off chance that they are right, I’m trying to get the heck out of here a few days early if possible via one way car rental. Things feel like they could get weird in a hurry.

Baloney meaning the fabric of things may fall apart for a bit, not the illness.

Feels like they are all trying to outdo each other at this point. Does this end or do we just commit suicide?

Yeah I think they'd have gone through with the events with empty crowds if it wasn't for that. Not to mention him just kinda being a dick about it and rubbing all the microphones and joking was a horrible look.

I just got told the same thing rath... and that's one of our three offices (Atlanta, st. Louis, (and brand new) Toledo) and the story has it that our Atlanta offices is gonna be a wreck, and St. Louis is gonna get the carry over) if some of the stories our Atlanta connection has been telling is true...

Tort lawyers.
I think when the Utah Jazz player had it, they were afraid one player would give it to another and they would get sued.

NCAA is getting sued because an assistant track coach at Texas from late 90s for about 10 years used his position to try to get sex from 3 female athletes. They are claiming NCAA didn't punish sex crimes enough (even though the high profile cases were after this allegedly started). Slimy lawyers will sue anyone. It makes the NCAA look bad and costs them money for lawyers. If someone got sick they would sue the NCAA. I'm guessing the coach has no money and since Texas fired the outstanding black gay female track coach who had an affair with an athlete and demoted Major Applewhite for having an affair with a trainer, they can't claim Texas ignored these things.

Basically shelter in place because this is modeling to bloom. Their CEO is doing a presser with Trump in 50 minutes.

If everybody got this, like everybody gets a cold or the flu at some point, what would that mean? Certainly if everyone clogged the health system it would be negative--for the people that actually need to be using the system. The truth seems closer to most people can and would likely do better to examine their own abilities to care for themselves rather than expecting others or the "system" to do it for them, kind of like, y'know, the pioneers who built this country with the original American Spirit.

Too many people are acting like a bunch of what we used to call being a "P***sy" about this. Fer cryin' out loud, even if you actually get this, it's been stated by medical professionals not to be much worse if that than a normal cold or flu. Why are so many acting like it's an automatic death sentence when it is nothing close? Why do so many in the media have a motive to spread unnecessary fear and panic? Look at the agendas underlying this and you'll see. So, it's a pandemic, so what? It's very unlikely to kill you even if you get it, so chill, people. You survive normal colds and flu, you'll survive this, too. Very vulnerable people die from other bugs and flus and diseases other than this, and no one seems to give a rat's a$$.

Man, a bunch of bats in soup in China and they control our country? What the he77? Test or no tests, we can and will surely survive this, it's just not as big a deal as, say Hurricane Katrina or Sept. 11 was. It's nothing like Normandy either. But surviving stupid, some are trying real hard to make sure we don't survive that, and mainly because they can't find any other ways to win the election. Stupid on Trump this time for falling for it. It's more likely than not to turn out to be a huge nothingburger in the end. he looked like he had a cold, so maybe he needs to actually get some sleep for a change.

Good for you. You are probably not 14 hours from home with your kids watching the job site empty this week due to people feeling like **** one day and then calling off the next. Related? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
