Shows u the nature of our conference where none of the lines for teams 5-12 are more than 2.5 (and Rice as the 12th seed is 2)….

Pretty simple equation for this game. We make our 3s, we should win. We don't, we should lose. FIU has the best shot blocker in the conference so there won't be much to go around inside.

9-7 Rice with 15 left. FIU trying to exploit the size advantage on the offensive end but Osaghae isn't exactly the most skilled big. I imagine as the game goes on, FIU is going to glue itself to the 3pt line on defense and dare us to drive the ball. They can live with us trying to win in the paint and midrange.

14-7 Rice. Defense has been really, really good. Everything is being contested well.

Now down 18-19 as shooting gets cold.

Pera does this way too often and it's inexcusable. Why are Mullins, Moore, Parrish ever on the court together at the same time? It's a lineup that's too easy to defend. 24-24.

28-26 FIU. FIU doing what was expected after those first few minutes and not giving shooters any breathing space.

RE: MBB conference tournament 2020
As has become commonplace for our MBB games, our opposition goes on a 9-0 run in the final 2 minutes of the half to open up a 35 - 28 lead.

35-28 FIU after an awful end to the half. The biggest flaw in this team is still that we can't win games unless we make 3s. Nobody can beat his man off the dribble and while the defense has been fine for the most part, it's nowhere near good enough to win us games. We either make our 3s in the second half or we're gonna get blown out.

Need to play the big guys. Crisler and Fiedler should both be seeing time.

Why? How exactly is that going to help us?

I can see the thought process on Crisler. Let him play primarily around the 3pt line and draw Osaghae away from the basket. Could open some space. But that's basically what Murphy and Martin are doing anyway so it probably wouldn't make a difference.

Such a sloppy start to the second half. Easy steal and dunk for FIU, quick response transition 3 for FIU after a Peterson 3, and then Mullins misses a wide open Murphy in the corner.

Also Adams playing clearly hurt. Wouldn't expect anything else in what could be his last collegiate game.

46-40 FIU. Offense is executing better but our defense is frustratingly soft at times.

Mullins has been good in the second half. More in control on his drives.

Exactly - Crisler can shoot the 3 and has the defensive IQ to guard their big. He is a high major recruit that is more than capable. Fiedler is a beast on the boards. Time to mix it up.

Martin playing well.

53-48 FIU. Rice run followed by a mini FIU run.
