My wife put me on suicide watch. No NCAAs, No NHL, No MLB, don't even care much about baseball but it woulda been something sports.

Well, I guess you'll just have to be your own sports star instead of enjoying a vicarious experience. Go outside and run a timed lap around the block. Throw a baseball against a brick wall and field some grounders. Ride a bicycle uphill in the face of a stiff breeze. Challenge someone to a hotdog-eating or beer-chugging contest. Take up competitive baking. See how many goldfish you can swallow. Count the number of Delaware or North Dakota license plates you see while driving around (really easy and completely non-aerobic if you live anywhere but Delaware or North Dakota). Be a good sport.
My nephews and younger in laws won't even play basketball w me right now. We only play football once a yr. All my friends stopped playing a while ago. I'm the only one that stayed young. I'll just stay home and lift weights, stay in shape, watch my kids roller blade.

I run a timed 40 every August. 4.89 last yr. not bad for 42. I don't run other than playing sports.

Not in athletics they aren't.

I'd even make a very serious argument that some of them don't even sit at the top academically, including and especially Harvard.

In reputation? Sure. But that reputation is increasingly unearned.

The Ivies have a lot going on inside their campuses. They are international hubs. Their students and faculty are worldly and hop the globe. Not that other schools don't have similar issues; they aren't to the scale of the Ivies. And, you're correct, they really don't have to answer to a state government the same way the flagship land grant public school would. However, if the campus can't keep track of the students and transmission issues there, even if that's only a fraction at another school, that's still some risk.

I actually find it a bit ironic the Ivies were quick to go virtual. Not quite their style (except for certain graduate and professional programs).

Quite honestly, and I'm in a traditional grad program now, I hate moving this online. I really hope students and parents take it to these places to cut them some slack on the bill.

High school boys basketball tournament have been suspended since 4 counties have schools closed with 6 confirmed covid-19 among those 4 counties. Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pine Bluff are the major ones. We might have a start of a community spread in the Pine Bluff area. University of Little Rock have students take classes online. Their gym along with the high school gyms could be used as a triage center.

Most if not all NAIA conferences are in the process of suspending spring sports until the end of March. We'll see what happens then. The NAIA convention in mid-April has been canceled; critical meetings will happen virtually.

Really a pity for them to be lemmings. Their original plan to exclude fans was viable and would have been effective. And it would have been a chance to grab the college sports limelight for a week.

ESPN reported that one of the officiating officials was tested positive for the virus. He was officiating the CAA conference tournament. That means all those CAA men basketball team players have to be quarantine for 2 weeks which that conference would be left out of the dance.
