Or lawyers. I think it's a conflict of interest to actively practice law and simultaneously help draft law. It creates a motive to make law complex and vague to encourage legal disputes and increase the demand for legal services.

As a lawyer who once thought about a political career but abandoned it when I realized that I just wasn't nasty enough for it, I tend to agree.
