RE: 20-21 MBB Thoughts & Look Ahead
Based on how little you return, I understand why you were picked last, but every team lost enough that I wouldn't say any team is hopeless. You exceeded expectations last season.

I agree. Any big art like that should go on a wall, not the court.

JMU basketball has been socially distancing since 2016.
Also, a 1000 fan maximum would allow Hofstra and Northeastern to have their normal crowds as well.
Hofstra averaged 2,837 last season. Two seasons before that in 2017-2018, they averaged 1,832. Hofstra's lowest attendance in the CAA was 1,468 in 2013-2014. Whether fans can attend or not, Hofstra will host Iona with Coach Rick Pitino.

I guess hosting a .400 team led by Mr Scandal is a big deal. Congratulations.
Hofstra should have a good mbb team but I will never forgive them for dropping fb just after joining our conference.

Announcement is out. Entire tourney will be played in Indianapolis.
INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee announced today the relocation of 13 predetermined preliminary round sites for the 2021 Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.
In recent weeks, the Division I Men’s Basketball Committee has engaged in a thorough contingency planning process to determine the most effective way to conduct a safe and healthy March Madness for all participants for the 2021 championship. Through these discussions, it became apparent to the committee that conducting the championship at 13 preliminary round sites spread throughout the country would be very difficult to execute in the current pandemic environment. The committee has decided the championship should be held in a single geographic area to enhance the safety and well-being of the event.
As a result, NCAA staff are in preliminary talks with the State of Indiana and the city of Indianapolis to potentially host the 68-team tournament around the metropolitan area during the coordinated dates in March and April. Indianapolis was already slated to host the Men’s Final Four from April 3-5, 2021.

Does anyone know when the school is releasing men’s basketball game times in addition to the dates?
Would love to stream/watch the ODU game (will it be streamed?) and am going to try to work Thanksgiving weekend plans around it, but I couldn’t find the start time anywhere unless I’m just missing it (which is very possible too).

One possibility being considered seriously by universities for starting times is the daytime since many schools, including W&M, are playing opponents within the same day back & forth drive. Afternoon games make it much easier: getting back at a decent hour and
no overnight hotel stay.

RE: 20-21 MBB Thoughts & Look Ahead
Maybe I missed something, but TribeAthletics.com shows both games with Hampton (Dec 3 and Dec 15) but the HamptonPirates.com schedule shows no OOC games, only their Big South schedule, and makes no mention of any games other than conference games. An earlier press release says MBB and WBB will play their seasons (as referenced in an earlier post on this thread). Does anyone have any additional info?

Here is a good article with a season and team preview from our Tribe Scribe. Excited to see these guys play. If we can gel and play well together, I think we could be fun but inconsistent and surprise some folks. I do believe we a good bit of talent though much of is unproven and young. A lot will depend on if we can defend the post and rebound. I believe we will score. Luke, Quinn and Thornton are gonna need to lead well.
Go Tribe!

With no W&M football and my eyes still burning from the Elon game last March, I'm just looking forward to watching some Tribe hoops. It'll be fun watching the young guys develop.

Excited to see Danes system & philosophy without an obvious focal point. Also interested In seeing who has grown and what these heralded newcomers bring.

In fairness, this was because of a change in the MAAC schedule, not covid rules it appears.

I wonder if that date stays open or if there is any fluidity to try and schedule another matchup. I'm guessing the former.
