Not to mention babies

Nah, the goobs who play video games aren't doing anything that would cause a baby

Those are not mutually exclusive demographics. One group will stay in and play video games and one group will stay in and make corona babies.

I don't mean to be ugly, but please go to the internet and educate yourself. We have got to limit personal contact as much as possible. It's the only way to limit the spread of the virus. Read about what's going on in Italy.

Italy has an extremely high population of very old people. It is their elderly that are having problems.

It's a little confusing and I can't explain it all here, but this is a serious problem. Just because you catch it and don't die, it doesn't mean you won't give it to your parent and then they die.

Politicizing the issue is definitely not helpful.

Mortality demographics

ages 10-19: 0.2%
ages 20-29: 0.2%
ages 30-39: 0.2%
ages 40-49: 0.4%
ages 50-59: 1.3%
ages 60-69: 3.6%
ages 70-79: 8%
80 and over: 14.8%

So protect the elderly with respiratory issues and those with compromised immune systems the same way you would from the flu. No one else is at risk of dying.

Every 3-4 years there is a new strain of flu.

Recently there was the swine flu, the bird flu, the Hong Kong flu and I remember being warned about them but not massive shut downs and certainly not anything like what is going on now.

I think over 12k died from H1N1.

Its typically the very old and the very young and maybe those who have other issues that are the victims.

Not sure why this time is so different.

Not sure why this time is so different.

We have 1 million hospital beds in U.S. 65,000 respirators.

It may be as simple as they want the infection rate to stagger itself, so medical facilities don't get overloaded.

There is also the uncertainty factor. Will the young who barely show symptoms infect/ kill the old and frail? A weird thought at best.

Couple that with stockmarket plunges and you got more panic than most can process.
