Travel Partners
Will someone please explain to me the concept of “Travel Partners”. Especially in football where games are one week apart, I don’t understand the benefits.

No benefit in football. Slight benefit in BB if games are 2-3 days apart, especially if you have 2 outliers far from the other teams, and the conference scheduling takes advantage of it.

But, IMO, the concept is way overblown.

Ridiculous for ECU to have a home game against UCONN sandwiches in between road games @USF and @UCF

No such thing, that is a "Bus League" concept... The AAC has Women's Tennis, Golf, Softball, and Volleyball games scheduled against West coast teams all the time.

... and oh yeah, SDSU and Sacramento Rowing is a member of the AAC

Yup. Doesnt matter for baseball either where the standard is a 3 day weekend series. Its really about a few sports like basketball, volleyball, soccer.....There are losts of sports where it is of zero benifit. For instance track, swimming, tennis, golf, diving, etc are other sports where travel partners make no difference as these sports are more meet/tournament based.
