GTS has been wanting Pastner to get a new contract - along with a new employer - for some time now.

In all serious, GT is or was at .500 in the ACC, not bad.

In some respects, I don't care for JP. But, I will admit he has done a fine job the second half of this season. I give the man full credit.

Yes, with Josh Pastner you too can limp to .500 in the worst ACC in a generation, have 0 lifetime wins over UGA, get blown out by 30 to a triple digit RPI Ball State team at home, get similarly housed by Gardner Webb, invite a genuine sociopath into the program who blackmails you over recruiting violations and gets you put on probation with a post season ban, and think it's a good idea to have Jarrett Jack take a one-and-done recruit who is clearly for sale to the highest bidder to The Cheetah and hand them a few hundred dollars in b**** money because WHO COULD POSSIBLY NOTICE THAT AT A HUGELY POPULAR STRIP CLUB, J-TAP-DANCING-C.

The best part about Josh Pastner is he brought Eric Reveno. Eric Reveno appears to genuinely have the Midas Touch with bigs. He can turn water -- provided it's tall enough -- into wine. He was promoted to Assistant Head Coach this year. And while I have low confidence in Pastner being fired this offseason, I have VERY HIGH confidence of him being fired next offseason. But I think the new hire will be told that they already have a bigs coach on staff.

Didn’t your sister’s cousin-in-law once date his old roommate of three months, so you have a soft spot for GT?

The ACC is down a little, but it’s downness is greatly exaggerated. Losing to mid-majors is a plagued that has happened across the nation even to Duke and Kentucky. Don’t think Jose Alvarado played until conference play, he was a big loss early on. I’ll give JP and staff some credit, he seemed to have saved his job for a year.

#PastnerOut
He should have been booted out of GTAA with Booster Ron Bell his former BFF... Lets not forget it took the ACC going to a 20 game schedule for CJP to win double digits..... He is no better than CBG...Sad part GTAA Basketball can do better

RE: Pastner for coach of the year in the ACC
Thankfully it's "Coach of the Year" and not "Coach of the last half of the Year"

Losses to Arkansas (19-12, 7-11), Georgia (15-16, 5-13), Ball State (18-13, 11-7), Pitt (15-16, 6-14), two to Notre Dame (19-12, 10-10) and two to Syracuse (17-14, 10-10) don't call for Coach of the Year awards.

Finishing 5th in the ACC with a winning record (first since 2003-2004) is nice, but this ain't the ACC of twenty years ago. Strange that only 5 teams finished with a winning conference record though, out of 15. Still only 1-4 against the top four in the conference, the win was nice though.
