Idk if anyone was watching and I hate to blame refs because rice is no doubt a good team but damn there's some things that should've been called all game and that foul when everyone went for the rebound was so phantom to me..

They never call fouls in final seconds of games. Had a chance, move on to CUSAT.

It wasn't the final seconds i was looking at. It was a call they called on us that was ridiculous but its whatever. Onto the tournament. I'd like to say if we make it to the finals that'd be enough to get in but I think we have to win it.

Couple of things hurt ODU: 1) injuries robbed the team of some critical depth, 2) a very difficult game Thursday night with a travel date on Friday, 3) terrible free throw shooting.

Still a great regular season. The loss to UAB a couple nights ago could be the one that haunts them. They definitely have a chance to win the conf tourney though. Just need to regroup. Had a chance to win both games. Go ODU

WBB conference Tournament has been announced. ODU will play the winner of UTEP or FAU. That is good for ODU since we completed a first round match with Charlotte and UAB. I like ODU's chance to win the first match-up. Yes I know...El Paso might have a big crowd come out to support them. But it's about 9 hours from Texas El Paso to Frisco. So....that might discourage some fans from driving down for the day....

I really do think the top four teams in this conference should all go to a tournament. One team to NCAA and three teams to WNIT.

Notice that neither of quarterfinal games involving No1 or No. 2 seeds are available on ESPN+, according to bracket released by the conference. Can that be correct? Is that any way to run a tournament? Apparently, the games are available on Stadium. Not familiar with that. Anyone know about Stadium?

Locally in HR, it's scheduled on COX channel 111.

Here's the women's bracket. Only team ODU WBB lost to on our side of the bracket was Charlotte.

If Rice and ODU make it to the final, one is the conference champ, does the other one have the pedigree for an at large?

For ODU, they have a win over Campbell which is number one in the Big South. Win over Idaho, number two in the Big Sky. A win over a P-5 school Auburn is nice for the fans. But the rest of ODU's better wins have come against teams in the conference. (WKU, Rice, Charlotte, Middle Tennessee St) We beat a lot of teams that didn't have good years. I have a feeling that while our RPI of 33 is fantastic and will get the voters attention, it's our SOS of 106 that will keep us on the outside looking in if we lose.

I hope that I'm wrong though. But the NCAA doesn't usually like to reward mid-majors that can't win their own conference championship...unless they are a nationally ranked team and they lose the championship in a close game.

Knowing nothing about nothing but if ODU can get to the final then that might be enough. But just like with the men, how the other conferences unfold and how many bid stealers emerge will be the rub.

Latest bracket projection on ESPN has three CUSA teams in the tournament — Rice, Western Ky and ODU. All were 10 or 11 seeds. The Monarchs were listed as the “last 4 in,” meaning that if there’s a stumble the team can wave goodbye to the bid. I’d be stunned if CUSA actually gets three bids. Two seems likely, with those being the two that reach the finals. So, to me, it looks like the Monarchs have their destiny in their own hands. Win and they go, lose before the final and Hello WNIT.

So we need to root for all the #1 seeds in their conference tournaments to win. Otherwise they steal a bid and shrink the bubble and keep us out.

I find it interesting that the women don't have NET. I guess putting those together is too labor intensive to use on the women's side, which is pretty dumb imo.

Well #1Gonzanga lost yesterday in the semis to Portland. Lady Zags are ranked #11 in the country so they're definitely getting in as an at large, so there's one.
