NIU 2:1 with Mizzou
Football just scheduled a 2:1 with Missouri.
2028 @ Missouri
2029 @ Home (or some Neutral field in Chicago)
2032 @ Missouri

This could be the biggest name to ever come to DeKalb if no shenanigans are pulled. DO NOT SELL THIS GAME.

Let's play "Guess the Venue" for the 2029 "home" game!
I will guess SeatGeek Stadium. I think this year's game against BYU will be the first of many and that NIU will be signing some sort of agreement with SeatGeek. My guess is that we will be playing at least one "home" game there per year.

I would say that Maryland trumps Mizzou.

I think 2:1 makes a lot of sense. You still can get $ for the one extra game, but also get the benefit of having a P5 school at home. I suspect we will see more of these with the P5 schools (besides just the one and dones).

I'm going to go with a wildcard for the Chicago "home game" against Mizzou.
Impact Field. Right near the Tollway and airport. Easily accessible to all in the Chicagoland area. Only sits 6,300 so we are guaranteed to fill the seats. Mizzou will save money on hotels, as they can fly in and out pretty quick.
Bonus. This is the home of the Chicago Dogs. So I am sure warm hotdogs will be in abundance.

The fans need to push to have this game in Dekalb. How is our campus/stadium supposed to build its history/folklore/importance if the (currently few) monumental home football match-ups are all shipped out to random Cook County venues?
If I'm a student I want to wake up, walk across campus, tailgate all day and watch my Huskies beat Mizzou right in my backyard. Thats how you build pride and local loyalty. F*ck Seat Geek stadiums 11 luxury boxes.

The kids who will be students at this game are currently in 3rd grade. Ill see what we can do.

So now people are getting upset about something that not only hasn't happened, but hasn't even been suggested, and is 9 years away..............Good grief

pretty sure a horrid twist of irony, The home of the Dogs will run out of hot dogs if NIU played there

Love it. Great match-up and reasonable distance for travel.

Great Friday, weekend on the way, big NIU bball game tonight, nice future football schedule released with SEC opponent, and this board...is miserable.
Just the way things go around here.
Home game or not, Missouri away games seem like a very good match for NIU.

RE: NIU 2:1 with Mizzou
Although I think the venue will be SeatGeek Stadium, I will try to convince STF to move the game to the U.S. Steel Yard in Gary, Indiana, home of the Gary Southshore RailCats. The stadium is just off of I-90 and has plenty of parking. It will be great to have a nationally streamed game from Gary, and STF will be able to engage NIU fans in Northwest Indiana (and Chicago's South Side). Not only that, but this can only help with recruiting in Indiana. In the meantime, I will look for tailgate locations and drinking holes in the area. And, in our effort to assist with Gary's economic development, I know that the city and its residents will welcome us with open arms.

17Huskie, don’t forget NIU is hosting MAC Championship wrestling. I have already see 10 buses in town. Dekalb/Sycamore hotels packed. Women’s Gymnastics tonight also. I might have trouble getting my seat at FATTYS AT 4:30.

Yeah, that’s worth a lot. Because BYU at SeatGeek was suggested and debated here before it was announced.

The response is probably something like - idk, ask the pride less students from 2014-2019 why they didn’t wake up and walk across campus for almost ANY games?
