The guys seem to be playing like it doesn’t matter. I don’t see us coming back from 12 down with 6 to go.

Definitely not. This is a game we have lost at the line.
This game matters for momentum. Better to go in with 3 wins than a loss. The guys need to realize that.

Not really. Our chances of winning the CUSAT are slim to none. But we will be dramatically improved next year. Just need a couple of solid additions in the front court.

Exactly. I’m going to root like hell for the guys. I’ll watch till the final buzzer sounds. We were never gonna win the tournament once J Wade went down. I haven’t been watching cause I thought we were going to pull it together and go on some magical run. I’ve enjoyed watching the guys get better. They’ve fought and played a bunch of good games. Even if they played great tonight and won that wasn’t going to change anythin, or my opinion of the players and coaches.

On a side note, JMU (the team that beat us at home) was eliminated from the CAA Tournament tonight by Elon. That's 3 losses to Elon.

We're just not very good this year.

I don't understand this. Our only chance to rectify this season is the tournament and you hope we lose?

We're not winning the tournament. So why prolong the inevitable.
Because it's fun when we win? The farther we go the more enjoyable it is. It's one thing to not expect us to win, it's another to hope we don't win.

RE: UAB rematch
It’s funny how everyone’s opinion of the team changes from game to game. I don’t see it like that. I didn’t really feel better about our final outlook after we just played two good games. And I don’t really feel worse about our chances after that loss. Did y’all think you were going to flip on the tv and see new players? We are who we are. We have zero margin of error. Everyone has to play well or we lose.

I was telling a friend yesterday that the only teams we would beat in the CUSAT would be UTSA or Rice, maybe UTEP. We matchup well with those teams. These other teams are just deeper than we are. And just as athletic, some of them more athletic. With J Wade we’d have a chance and could have matched up with anyone. UAB, Marshall, even FAU I don’t like our chances. I know we beat FAU twice, But both on our home court. We played inspired in both games. I don’t expect us to beat them on a neutral court. I expect us to go down swinging but we just don’t have the horses. I thought our best chance was UTSA and then catch WKU. I know WKU is pretty good but they aren’t big and they aren’t deep. We could hang with them. I’m still optimist about our future though. I’ve seen enough out of each guy individually to know we have some talent. We need to bring this squad back. That’s our biggest obstacle. Continuity. Another piece or two is needed, I acknowledge that. But I like the core. Go Monarchs. I’m done for the year. This place will be unbearable soon enough if it isn’t already. Lol. Go ODU.

I'm just ready to flush this past football/basketball season and start over next year. JJ needs to hit the recruiting trail hard this Spring, and the earlier he gets started, the better.

Damn, thought we had turned a corner with those past two wins, maybe even a slight curve if anything but guess not. Guessing our season will be over by Thursday or Friday.

RE: UAB rematch
Never more obvious than last night's game about our lack of size. If Reece gets a couple of questionable fouls called on him especially at the start of the game and Kalu still hasn't learned how to play smart ball, then we are in big trouble. Does anyone think they will improve on this by next year? Don't count on it! JJ better hit the roads ( doesn't have to be US highways )hard looking for some quality size to help this team or we will be having this same discussion this time next year.

Probably be worse because we lose Carver.

And now they move on to play b&m. Will this be b&m’s year to finally get to the dance? I hope not, but it sure seems like the odds are with them.
